I'd quantify that with " if there's no-one next to him organising him positionally". He's had a few decent games but without an experienced head talking him through games he looks lost. More likely to be a replacement for Rose than Hyam.

Surely it depends on the other options and the overall effect on the team. DCM might be a bit weaker if Hamer is moved forward, but ACM might be a lot weaker if he isn't. If we have players available that play DCM but not ACM, it makes sense to play them in that position and move Hamer forward...
