Match Thread Coventry v Oxford Utd Match Thread - Tuesday 18th Oct

I'll be happy to lose by fewer than 2 goals. We need the 3 points but if we can just keep the goal difference down it will help at the end of the season.

    Bottom of league one

For everyone pointing out that we said we would win the last times we were relegated... I know. I'm also aware that a joke isn't a joke if you have to explain it. Will try harder next time. ;)

Just imagine how great it will be in League 2: Morcambe; Cambridge;Accrington... we'll win every week.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

True. It also makes it more likely for UK citizens to buy UK goods rather than imports. And it causes price deflation for British goods in foreign countries, increasing sales for exporters. Why is the pound falling? Lots of factors: - Uncertainty and fear about the UK economy. - Opportunism...

    The Signings That Never Were

Didn't we reject Kevin Keegan when he was young? I know it was a management appointment but didn't we also lose out on Brian Clough?

    Am I in the wrong

She probably is tired Daz; and focused on the goal. LifeSkyBlue is right - the empathy; understanding and sharing approach is probably the best one. Angry confrontation is almost certainly not. All work and no play... PS: Wish I was so wise when my wife and I get into conflict.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

All this 'where is the plan' stuff is just political game-playing by Labour IMO: - The Government didn't campaign for leave. Why should it have a plan for something in advance that it didn't propose? Personally, I'd have been more concerned if it had devoted all that time beforehand planning...

What are you currently listening to?

Yep. I saw the Cure there back in about 1982; also Blancmange twice and plenty of local bands. We went back a few years ago before the fire and couldn't stay awake long enough for others to arrive.

How can you say that? There is absolutely no similarity between Thatcher and Pol Pot and to imply there is softens the evil that Pol Pol inflicted on his people.

    RIP Labour

I think we agree with each other. Nobody thinks "Hmmm, I'd like poverty" but some people through their own actions put themselves in the position of not having the basics (drug and alcohol abuse, spending lots of money on a luxury that means they cannot pay the gas bill.... Yes, many families...

9pts off playoffs with a game in hand :)

It's not pi; it's a sequence p with each member of the sequence indexed with an i. The equation doesn't make sense otherwise as pi log pi is a constant. Sorry for being a nerd.

Well it's an abstract term so one can choose whatever definition one wants. Compared to most every other place on earth the least wealthy in the UK have plenty: they don't want for food; somewhere to live or heat in winter. They may choose to forgo normal basic needs by spending their money on...

    RIP Labour

I'm reading a biography of Mao; he's just finished the long march, during which he had foot soldiers carry him in a sedan chair. A more despicable person you would never meet - he deliberately put the red army in jeopardy and murdered colleagues in his single pursuit for power. He tortured...
