The Dons worried and they shoud know.

It isn't the end, it might be, but it needn't be. The key difference is that we will have a stadium sitting there empty waiting to be used, so you hope that even if we start the season in Northampton, common sense will win through pretty quickly and we'll make a swift return. Plough Lane was...

    Cobblers defiant after threat

That post doesn't explain anything. NTFC don't need any 'rights' to decide where the club play - because that's not what they are doing. They are simply renting their facilities to another company following a direct approach. What has the 'right to play' got to do with anything? ACL...

    Cobblers defiant after threat

I am the director of my own company. I'm not sure what your point is. Keep posting the wiki links if you wish - none of this explains how why think suing NTFC is justified. What is the legal basis for this, and is there precedent? There is a company that owe my company a lot of money. They...

    Cobblers defiant after threat

You can post it as many times as you like, it is still irrelevant and doesn't explain why they are threatening to sue Northampton Town.

    Cobblers defiant after threat

What has that got to do with anything? A lost cause is a lost cause. No prospect of successfully suing NT so this is a bluff designed to scare them into backing out. It's playground stuff straight out of the SISU book of bullying tactics. I'm sick of all of it tbh. I just wish I could stop...

    Cobblers defiant after threat

Well then they need to get a better lawyer. Who cares if the legal case is almost non-existent when you are being paid £150 per hour? This is an unwelcome distraction if you ask me. It will dominate the media coverage of this saga, particularly in Northampton and nationally, and it won't...

    Cobblers defiant after threat

People are letting emotion get in the way of their ability to think rationally. Whatever frustration we feel at the decision by NTFC to agree to the ground share, they surely have no legal case to answer (seems an absurd notion to me), so then why threaten legal action at all? It is very...

    Franchise football FC

It has to be in the Coventry urban area (FL are clear on this) as defined here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_and_Bedworth_Urban_Area So they'd get away with being just over the city boundary or in exhall, Bedworth or Binley Woods. The FL (by their own rules) could not sanction Rugby...

Will free coaches be laid on to Sixfields?

Free travel provision is only compulsory for season ticket holders if you relocate mid-season. If people buy a ST knowing where the club will be playing, then I am sure that it is not something they have to provide - but that isn't to say they won't. I suspect there might be special trains too.

    Franchise football FC

No probs. I've done the same many times. What happened at Wimbledon was a disgrace, but there is no prospect of a similar thing happening here IMO - that's my point, because the circumstances are entirely different.

    Franchise football FC

With respect you have missed the point in spectacular fashion. The issue is not about the rights and wrongs of what happened there (the wrongs, because there were no rights), I am talking about the circumstances which led to that move, namely that there was no rule against what they did at the...

Funnily enough was talking about this yesterday. Tickets still available so might pop along to that.

    Game over

Ashes start on Wednesday fella. Always did prefer cricket. Anyway, which stand you getting a season ticket in? The Jim Bowen Stand? Or is it Dave? Not sure, but it'll be rocking in there. No? I'll get me coat...

    Franchise football FC

Err...the fact that it is not allowed, and the fact that Milton Keynes had a population of 250K and no football team. I'm not sure what people mean when they talk about a franchise - where do you think they will take us? Northampton can just about sustain one league club as it is.

    Coventry United Football Club Statement

Have to agree. If I ever choose to follow this type of club it will be a proper phoenix club that is seen as the spiritual continuation of CCFC and one which takes the club's traditional fan base with it. Nothing against CU or Sphinx - nothing wrong with having strong non-league clubs in the...

Ah OK. Just that somebody mentioned tier 9 and I know Sphinx are tier 9.

CCFC: The Return to Coventry - August 2016 or beyond

But next season is going to cost them a fortune, why would they chuck more money at this mess only to walk off into the sunset? With what? Surely, they either genuinely believe they can build a new ground, or probably more likely that they can secure a return to the Ricoh on much more...

That's the same level as Sphinx I think.

    Coventry United Football Club Statement

Reading between the lines though, I think they are saying name and colours could be changed if that was the will of shareholders/members.
