Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I think the chances of Sisu owning the Arena are less than 5% unfortunately.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Worst case scenario is someone buys the Arena and we continue to rent, with Sisu as owners. This, to me, is still preferable to having to bow down to Wasps as landlords with those f*&king Wasps signs up at the Arena. All depending on who the new landlords would be to be fair but it's no longer...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Great point. I guess the 'rugby family' might agree that it's in the best interests to get them in and they might draw in bigger crowds for those two games. Maybe. I'll try and speak to my contacts at Cornish Pirates this week and see what they say.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

I guess the Monday meeting will be as planned to discuss the next steps once Wasps are in Admin, as opposed to bumping this one to then which was on saving them?

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Maybe and maybe my term was based on initial thoughts. But surely the masses as you mention who wouldn't know all the specifics, would find out in the press about £xm being spent on a private hedge fund owned Rugby club, losing millions each year? Given cost of living etc, I'd imagine that...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Yep, fair one. Not being local, I don't know much about CRFC other than booking rooms locally for Cornish Pirates coming to play them! But yes, you're correct - add them on!

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

So to get this straight - * A struggling Coventry born football club, ingrained into city culture, big debts, questionable hedge fund owners and heading into Administration - no CCC support. * A struggling non-Coventry born rugby club, 8 yrs of low success history, big debts, questionable...

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Isn't that worse for us? I wonder what the socio-economic mix is of the bondholders but I'd suggest a number would be Wasps fans. I can't imagine they'd be enamoured about CCFC having any sort of benefit out of this. I could be totally wrong though!

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

He'd still need to find £35m (plus interest) to pay the bondholders back before a new company took over it. Then he'd have to finance a loss making rugby club. Given the fact that he's losing millions each year, I'd suggest this won't be the case (but happy to be proven wrong). I'd also suspect...

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

I don't see how they can continue to be our landlords when they cannot even afford the interest on the £35m they owe to pay for the initial purchase 8 years ago.

Are we better off because Wasps have gone bump?

Who knows how this will shake out in the long term. The one positive for us (as I see it) the I'm delighted with, is that our landlord will no longer be a nomadic, sh!tty, rugby club who shouldn't be in our city. Granted, we don't know who our new landlords will be but as long as it's not...
