Coventry has too much student accomodation

This is one of the things that was being routinely highlighted. That we were becoming over reliant on the University and seemed to have no contingency for when numbers inevitably dropped. Of course people who pointed that out were mocked as there seemed to be a group think that student numbers...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

So what's the answer here? Surely nobody is denying climate issues but in the last couple of months on here we've had people against electronic vehicles, low emission zones, wave power, wind power, solar farms and against people who protest for action to be taken? Are we just going to pretend...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It might not have been an entirely serious comment but the idea that the M25 is some sort of travel utopia apart from when JSO protest is equally nonsense

fair enough, I'll take your statement as fact over the response from the ambulance service.

    Summer transfer window 2024

Slight flaw in that argument is his buddy O'Hare was here last season and he still fucked off.

    Friendly e-tickets

Surprised at that tbh. We've moaned for years about no home friendlies. Now we've got one against a Prem side with cheap tickets and it looks like nobody can be arsed Doubt King will be rushing to line up home friendlies next season

    Worldwide IT Outage

Probably a bit tin foil hat territory but there’s been a lot of ‘outages’ in the last few months but it’s always a problem with an update and never hackers

If you check the FOI related to that the ambulance service said it was not on an emergency call and it was a non issue. That’s entirely consistent with JSOs stated policy of moving for emergency services on blue lights

    Leeds Riots

How many times do we have to explain the same thing. Actual media outlets, as opposed to randoms on social media, don’t report things as fact if all they’ve got to go on is what someone has posted on twitter.

    Leeds Riots

Not licensed for use in the UK, think it was last considered when May was Home Secretary and she quickly squashed it. If you recall Johnson purchased some for the met after the Tottenham riots and they had to be sold for scrap at a huge loss as they were not authorised for use in this country.

    Leeds Riots

well yes, that's what tends to happen with riots. when do you remember a riot occurring and thousand of police were sent in within hours of it happening. even with things like Tottenham, which went on for days, by the time the army had been mobilised things had mostly run their course.

    Leeds Riots

we do, police funding is part of council tax. I'm sure if the council said that the cost was doubling or more due to the cuts in funding from central government 'the community' would be far from happy

    Leeds Riots

Don't think anyone has suggested turning a blind eye. The police know they're under resourced and fucked in a situation like this. They will have a plan which I would imagine involves using their limited resources to try and stop trouble spreading to other parts of the city

Surely stationary traffic is less likely to cause accidents than the quality of driving you normally see on the m25

    Leeds Riots

Not sure about the 'if it was football fans' stuff. Football games are scheduled so that police from all around the area can be present in numbers, especially if games are classed as 'risk'. This is mainly covered by working overtime and the bill is footed by the home club. The reality is that...
