    Jude Bellingham

The couple that jump out are Maddison and Ross Barkley, who has had a good start to the season with Villa. Beyond that, there’s an argument to include someone that’s gone through the u21 cycle like Tom Davies at Everton, or Ashley Westwood who has played every minute for Burnley so far (and yes...

    Jude Bellingham

So he’s played the equivalent of 3.5 games at a high level and now he’s in the England setup. That’s ridiculous. Nothing against the guy at all, but it infuriates me how we seemingly fast-track players so often rather than appreciating that they will need to learn. If I were in charge (which...

    Kelly

Interesting you say about staying in games longer. Certainly for the last three seasons, it’s felt very much like we tried to keep it cagey and get to HT having not conceded, then pushed on from there. Not sure that ethos is the same this season given the way the first halves have gone.

    Five subs

Leave it as it is. If Pep and Klopp are concerned about the fitness of their players, nothing stopping them sporadically resting them throughout the season and giving other players the opportunity to start, etc.

    Giggs

Correct. And I believe it was when Micky Adams was in charge.

    Kelly

Need to start valuing points more and bringing Kelly on late on in games to help see us through. Convinced that the Forest aberration doesn’t happen if he’s on the pitch. Likewise yesterday. May say that they’re individual mistakes but I think he’d bring a calmness allowing us to squeeze out points.

    Green shoots

It doesn’t, but equally it’s hardly something that Robins “likes to do”. Anyway, back to the point, the strange thing is that I don’t think we look defensively fragile constantly, it just seems to be complete brainfarts half the time. Has to be some hope that these are coached out before...

Cynically, I’m starting to believe it was a deliberate ploy to avoid paying out furlough funding for “unviable jobs”. Problem is, it will have also led to the loss of viable jobs along with it, but the Tories don’t strike me as people concerned about collateral damage.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

There’s a difference in getting behind something because it’s popular, which is what you seem to be insinuating you do, and getting behind something because you believe in it.

Absolutely shameful approach, lacking any type of joined up thinking, from a clown that has blundered his way through his entire working career. I’m honestly fucking sick of this now. As many have mentioned, a number of mild creative plans see us swerve this but the c**t won’t take any form of...

    Matty Godden

I’ll be honest, I was quite ready for Godden to be dropped. Whilst his goal tally says otherwise, I really didn’t think he’d had much of a start to the season. Played well tonight - won’t go overboard and suggest he was amazing but certainly a lot better than recently. Biamou didn’t have that...

    Sheaf and Hamer

I also want to see Walker brought in for Godden up top. Not got the impression he’s rapid but quick enough and certainly quicker than Godden. This would be my final attempt at making the current system work before we start thinking of alternatives.

So do nothing but cross fingers and hope for the best? The horse has bolted but it doesn’t mean we should let the other horses follow out of the wide open gate.

    Sheaf and Hamer

Bit of a chicken and egg situation as part of the reason we’re without the ball for long periods is we don’t have an attacking structure capable of keeping the ball up the other end. I’ve said a few times about the need to get the wing backs higher up and leave the wide centre backs to defend...

    Would you have bright back?

Part of the reason I’d also bring Walker in up top tonight. Unlikely, I know. That bit more pace, plus having the wing backs’ starting position higher than the midfield base is crucial.
