Can Ricoh Ever Truly Be A Football Ground

Think it will be a 10 minute journey from cov station to Ricoh on matchday. Just as significant are the trains coming in the other way from Nuneaton and Bedworth which will be a big help to many. Can't come soon enough.

Can Ricoh Ever Truly Be A Football Ground

Yeah, the train station will open up all sorts of pre-match opportunities that just aren't there at the moment. As it stands there are social clubs and the casino with not a lot in between. It will change how many away fans view the stadium for a start.

    Back from the club shop.

It holds 6K tops, and yet block 12, which is technically in the away end as it is the other side of the barrier has already been sold to city fans, so no more than 5.5K left to sell in there, 2K of which will probably go to Gillingham (Crewe got 1800 iirc).

    Waggott

I don't recall ever seeing Waggott swinging from the branches trying to take credit for anything. He will have just facilitated the acquisitions, and I very much doubt SP had players thrust on him. Either way, I don't get how much digging some people will do to try and discredit somebody they...

Can Ricoh Ever Truly Be A Football Ground

The issue of memorabilia is pretty irrelevant. The main issue with the Ricoh is its location. I can't think of a single edge of town stadium I actually like. Hopefully the station will make a difference to how disconnected it currently feels. For me, the Ricoh isn't just soulless as a...

    Waggott

Of course, because the manager had no say in those acquisitions at all. Give me strength.

    Ticket update

There was a tweet earlier from police saying there hopefully will be an update tomorrow afternoon followings meetings, presumably in the morning, so I guess it might be Wednesday before tickets go back on sale...

    Waggott

Good cop bad cop? Load of conspiratorial guff. I have no real opinion of the man either way, but I do know he is one of the most friendly and approachable individuals to have held a position of power at city for many years. Should be judged from this point forward and given the benefit of the...

    North Stand sold out

    100% it is.

Real shame we're not going to try in the Johnstone's Paint

I agree with your general point about managers and their attitude to cup competitions, but having now read the article, I'm not sure there is anything to worry about in terms of how SP is approaching the game.

You're wasting your time. You can't reason with sociopaths.

    Waiting for another 6,000 tickets.

That's all irrelevant. If we had progressed in the league cup and drawn Man U at home, do you think they would have closed the south stand to away fans? Of course not, United would have got the full allocation, and the rest of the ground would have been full - just like Chelsea and other high...

Agree. The club started selling south stand tickets before police intervened. Must be massively frustrating for them too. They should come out at say exactly what the police position is on this because they are the cause of the problem - either they are refusing to sanction it, or are...

    Ticket update

Yes, we get it. Your point makes sense. People are just saying the numbers don't stack up. Club are saying 17.7K sold, plus 4K reserved for STs. And that's it apparently, no more seats until SS is opened. Seriously, since when has the SS had a capacity of over 10K? Ultimately, I think you...

Gone. 50 seats went in about 2 mins!

A few seats have become available in block 17 it appears. Not many. Be quick.

Don't envy the ticket office staff today. Will be plenty of people who roll out of bed and go straight to the TO to buy a ticket to be told none are available. Could be a few fingers being pointed and hissy fits. Hope not.

    Ticket update

There have been a number of tweets overnight from the club responding to queries saying that the NS is sold out (and if it isn't, why is it not on sale). The numbers don't stack up. I've seen a 28K+ crowd at the Ricoh (Middlesbrough) when there were only 2K total in the SS. We'll see, and...
