    It’s no surprise

You find the term 'Sweaty' offensive? Really? Wow. Stephen Fry has it right on this sort of madness: "It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no...

    Jodi Jones

Never understood that criticism. Cuts inside? Of course, that's exactly what he was there to do. Why else play a very left sided player wide right. It was the whole point. Predictable perhaps, but also effective. Scored against both Notts County and Lincoln switching the ball to his left foot in...

    Jodi Jones

I don't follow. You referenced JJ is league one (2 seasons ago) when he was barely out of nappies and playing in a poor side. He may not have learned much while out injured, but he is 2 years older and had an excellent half season in league 2. He is older, physically stronger and probably a bit...

Throwing Pints in the air to celebrate?

I've thrown my son in the air a number of times, does that count? I've been known to go apeshit, it's what football does to you. Never understood how some people can stay so restrained during a goal celebration. This stuff with the beer is silly. But if they're doing it amongst themselves...

Throwing Pints in the air to celebrate?

Really? People getting annoyed about this? So what. It's kids mainly. If they want to waste their beer let them. If property is damaged that's different. If someone gets hurt, same. But that video above is just youthful stupidity. Who cares.

    Maddison

I'm not sure how it works with sell on fees, assumed it would be staged in line with with the transfer fee, otherwise Norwich might have to pay their entire first installment to us. Like I say, I don't pretend to know exactly how these deals work. As for Robins getting none of the money, not...

    Maddison

We'll receive the money in stages over several seasons I would imagine, it won't be one lump sum. There is no evidence money is being taken out, so would imagine it will stay within the club. How much Robins receives for player budget and how much is used to cover costs remains to be seen...

Early Bird Part 2 - Now Extended!

Quite a few seats have come available this morning suggesting a lot of non-renewals (although some of these people may have moved seats).

Scrub that, they have now gone off sale, presumably they'll go back up shortly at the new price.

Early Bird Part 2 - Now Extended!

I've noticed that season tickets have been available all weekend at the early bird prices despite the deadline having passed. This might change today, so just a head's up for those still sitting on the fence.

    World Cup Winner?

Don't fancy Spain this time. Looked poor in their last two games, which I know means nothing, but just can't see it. Couldn't pick a winner tbh. I do fancy England to do better than expected. Not saying they will win it, but the route to the quarter final looks favourable, and who knows from...

    Coventry Pride

I wasn't worried about that sort of thing so much, more that she would be wondering round town draped in a rainbow flag and that she might become a target and get picked on by tracksuited morons. It was fine though. Your daughter sounds pretty sensible, I'm sure she'll be fine mate.

    Coventry Pride

My daughter (14) went yesterday with a load of friends and had a great time. I went to pick her up and town was very busy. Rainbow flags everywhere, lots of families, a real cosmopolitan vibe. I'm a natural born worrier and was a little concerned, but needn't have been.

    Season ticket sales

It's a bit of a myth really. Population in 1961 was just under 300K. It increased to 335K in1971before falling away again. That increase is less than what we have seen in past 10 years. Besides, it is generations ago. We were averaging 34K 50 years ago. What we have seen in the last couple of...

    Coventry city centre

Coventry is on the cusp of a major revival in my option. That applies to leisure, culture, the restaurant scene, and yes, retail also. This may seem somewhat counter-intuitive given the national picture, but Coventry is starting from a low base having suffered decades of retail stagnation...

Depends which forecast you believe. I just check them all until I find one I like. Met office predicting no rain and that's usually the most accurate.
