Potter is a very shrewd tactician. However, it takes time to instil his way of playing. In fairness, the squad for the most part suits him and it could go quite well. Equally, could be a bin fire.

It shouldn’t matter. If clubs are set up correctly nowadays they will bring in someone of a similar ethos who is able to work with the players recruited. However, Chelsea are usually a bit of a mess from that perspective and under fresh ownership/director-level management. Could go tits up.

And our squad as a whole is worse for it. And we keep on until they’ve got a year or less on their deal and all income has to supplement the club’s operating costs. And we can’t then improve. We needed to sell one this summer. At least one. Mad to think otherwise.
