    Blues Game

There must have been some input from Blues surely? You wonder what the clubs have said about this privately, they must have lodged a objection because this is potentially around 120K in lost gate receipts.

    Blues Game

Yeah, not the sharpest tool that one. They'll be slightly more of us all told. Also saw one person harrass the twitter admin about 'how many sold', replying to a tweet with a link to an article that tells you exactly that.

    Blues Game

There is an opportunity to get tickets tonight, although perhaps they should be released at 9am tomorrow rather than midnight. Some people will miss out, and I guess there will be some frustration from fans of both clubs about all the seats that will be unsold. Why, for example, can Blues not...

    Blues Game

The statement didn't have any of that iirc. It simply gave the Blues allocation and specified which stands would be available to each club. The CCFC statement said: Coventry City fans will be in the Kop Stand as usual, selling into the Tilton Road Stand if required. It didn't mention stopping...

    Blues Game

The Kop and Tilton together hold 16K. But, 3 blocks between Kop and away fans are closed, plus half the Tilton is closed, plus the front row, therefore max is 10.5K.

    Blues Game

I'm surprised by that last bit. On Saturday, as it was at Bristol, Tranmere and Wycombe, our support was terrific. Loud, passionate, positive and good humoured, a real credit to the club and the City. Its only really been Rotherham where there has been an unsavoury edgethis season (for me...

    Blues Game

Policing 20K or 25K isn't much different, especially as all stands are already open to some degree. No different to the old days where FA Cup semi finals were at Villa Park etc. They even used to split the Holte End 50/50. This is nothing like the volatile fixture some are suggesting and I...

    Blues Game

Blues were allocated 9260 as per their own announcement. It'll be more like 11K for us. We'll be at 9.5K by the end of today and they'll be more than 1000 released tomorrow from unsold STs I'm sure. So, not much difference in the scheme of things, but there will be more of us.

    Blues Game

So club are saying the last available block in Tilton is being sold - T08, which will likely sell out today. We'll then have a period where tickets are temporarily sold out. Tomorrow ST seats are released and when they're sold, that's it. So both clubs will have sold out, but they'll be 8000...

    Blues Game

That sort of difference, when did that last happen outside of the community days? First game back at the Ricoh, but that was a unique situation. Before that? Perhaps back in the 70s and 80s when crowds were all over the place. Even the likes of United might get 50K one week and 25K the next...

    Blues Game

I never said they don't fluctuate, I said the same can be said of many other clubs. We're not unique on that front. Also they were pretty steady in our last 3 seasons in the Prem. Averaged 20K and the crowds rarely dipped below 18K.

    Blues Game

We're no different to most clubs on that front. It's a total myth that our gates fluctuate massively in a way that doesn't happen elsewhere. Look at Pompey, were getting 7-10K in the second tier in the late 90s. Sunderland went from 15K in the mid 90s to 46K by the early 2000s. Had a Bristol...

    Blues Game

On attendances, people have to remember we're going through the worst spell in our entire history as far as attendances are concerned. Our 5 lowest post-war season averages have all come in the last 7 seasons. What we have seen recently is pretty much as bad as it gets. We turned the corner last...

    The top 10

The Fleetwood game is a worry. They've only lost once at home all season and you hope there won't be a hangover from the cup game. That game has to be the priority, especially as we'll lose ground to other teams on Saturday. Yeah, we'll have games in hand, but a negative result at Fleetwood and...

Match Thread Doncaster Rovers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 18th Jan

Yes, we played well that day, silly amount of efforts on goal second half, but I thought they looked decent. Had a bit of quality about them. They've won 3 on the bounce, 4 out of 5 I think, so tough game tomorrow. A win would be huge.

Match Thread Doncaster Rovers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 18th Jan

Doncaster one of the better teams we've played this season, have a bad feeling about this. Got a feeling he might go two up top tomorrow.

They must have heard, block 12 now open.

    Blues Game

Our club is a bit odd at times. For the second night running you cannot buy tickets for a game where demand is high because nobody has thought to make them available. I'm sure everyone will get a ticket ultimately, but it's a bit tinpot.

    Blues Game

Why do people think the crowd will be made up of people who have previously refused to go? Most people will have been to a game or two this season. Just because we get 6K, it doesn't mean it's the same 6,000 every week. It wouldn't surprise me if 12,000-13,000 different individuals had attended...

    Blues Game

And we sold our allocation of 5K, you can't blame us for the poor Blues turn out. Next week is just a unique occasion with a lot of novelty to it, that's all. Yes, off to Donny tomorrow, much more important game. Next week is just a bit of an occasion and a chance to earn some welcome extra cash.
