Surely he can't do that without Doyle shoring up the midfield.

Does the budget reflect our position?

Football clubs are not businesses, most of them lose money and are financed by wealthy individuals. Look at the figures here, there are as many clubs losing money than making it.. lower divisions are similar with smaller numbers. Premier League finances: the full club-by-club breakdown and verdict

Does the budget reflect our position?

What I would argue is that at that time they were in partnership with an expert who did not have a good strategy, result expensive failed venture which the club is still trying to recover from. I think most people on this forum are coming to the opinion that a slow build strategy is probably...

Does the budget reflect our position?

No if the club is at an impasse then the owners have to prime the pump, I know its ancient history now but isn't that what Derek Robins did to start the 'Sky Blue revolution' under Jimmy Hill, the principles still apply do they not.

too many key players injured... too many lightweights

Surely a comprehensive cost benefit analysis has been done. Would there be any point in running a Cat 2 academy if it was not of overall benefit to the club.

Does the budget reflect our position?

So you agree with me even if you don't realise it.

    8th Biggest Budget

Isn't it also very similar to statements he made when we were in league one. Frankly I don't believe a word that comes out of Fishers mouth unless it can be corroborated by a reliable and independent source.

Does the budget reflect our position?

I think the budget reflects the ambition of our owners.

FFS! WE ARE STILL ONLY 3 POINTS FROM THE PLAYOFFS!!!

Your attitude says are prepared to accept mediocrity, winners do not do that.

Does the budget reflect our position?

Well given player sales tend to run over £2M p.a. it probably pays for itself and more. A cat 2 grant is about equal to the club contribution and also compensation payments for players that go to other clubs are higher. I know some clubs have recently downgraded to save money, but were those...

Does the budget reflect our position?

Normally I don't like to make myself clear.. gotit.

Does the budget reflect our position?

Difference between the already published accounts and the ones shortly to be published, which are all league one. The Checkatrade income will make a difference in the positive but lower average crowds will take some off.. I've made it clear at least twice in recent posts this season's numbers...

Does the budget reflect our position?

My point about transfers essentially agrees with you, payments are staged so if players are sold from time to time and do well then income will feed into the transfer dealings over several years from each deal. e.g. if Callum Wilson wins an England cap this season then the Cherries will almost...

Does the budget reflect our position?

Of course not they will be available in 2 to 3 weeks, I am going on the last 2 seasons figures and I have no reason to think there will be a major difference, do you?
  15. Captain Dart

    Should Mark Robins be sacked?

That is false optimism. There will almost certainly be injuries to players, maybe not the same ones. So the squad will likely end up short of one or 2 players at this stage whatever. If there are no important injuries then we will sail through, but that is unlikely isn't it?
  16. Captain Dart

    Liam Kelly =

I think real reason for playing Kelly 2 games in a row was because Doyle has a niggle and may have to sit out a number of games, Kelly is the only alternative the club has to step into his position while he is out. Even though the results have been s**t you can't really blame Robins for that...
  17. Captain Dart

Does the budget reflect our position?

The point about transfers is baloney, if you read the accounts the overall figure from transfer dealings is clearly identified. We don't know how much is from each deal but the overall numbers are clear and it is a significant proportion of turnover. As for budget the only option is to compare...

Does the budget reflect our position?

Well maybe SISU's strategy is simply to take money out till their investment is completely recovered then sell? Alternatively they have to build value so they can sell for more and that means promotion.
  19. Captain Dart

    Should Mark Robins be sacked?

We won't be able to tell for sure for another year yet, when the accounts covering this season (and therefore player salaries) are published. Due out in a couple of weeks accounts that cover 2016-17 relegation season and we can maybe assess how it compared to league one average.
