Guy on twitter claims to have a reply from league confirming Otium have been rejected

No doubt we've had plenty of well-meaning dreamers, and shameless self-publicists, but looking through this chap's timeline on twitter he seems straight enough. Perhaps the FL have gone back to him first on the basis that he organised the petition? This would be good news, imho, and would...

    On CWR this morning

It took some courage did that - good on you and your colleagues for taking a stand. It might not of itself put a stop to SISU's daft plan, but it's another barrier to cross, and another indication to them and the FL that what they're proposing is a really, really bad idea.

    The new ground

Lovely. If only we had £45 million to spend, and we could pay wages and suppliers at Malawian rates, and build under Malawian construction regs then that would be spot on. That's assuming, of course, that we could get planning permission for it. And if we didn't already have a perfectly good...

    Liquidating CCFC Limited

Actually, I'm sure I remember somewhere where this has happened. Someone bought a big brownfield site, relatively cheaply. Then they sold some of it to retail, and amazingly enough even managed to get a fair wedge of local government and other public funding to cover a chunk of the...

    Liquidating CCFC Limited

I wouldn't doubt it's possible that SISU might want to move out there for a few years. But I think it's unlikely they'd either be able to sell it on after that for a huge profit, or be allowed to stay there and remain in the FL under current rules.

    The new ground

But they wouldn't retain the golden share if that was SISU's plan. The whole point of the FL rules is stop that happening again.

    Liquidating CCFC Limited

I'm guessing there's a reason that Nene Park hasn't already been bought by a developer, so I'm not sure how much profit you'd make. First you'd have to make the stadium fit for purpose, and then any developer would have to knock it down to build something else. Unless you were planning to stay...

    The new ground

I'm afraid you can't quite do that. They'd have to apply for planning permission in the same way as every other developer would, and would need to go through big hoops for a development of this nature. Judicial review is when you think a Council have made an unfair decision. The JR that SISU...

    Liquidating CCFC Limited

I think there's two possible flaws to your argument. The first is that I'm not sure that CCFC Limited will be able to go for voluntary liquidation. With the lease still active, ACL remain a creditor because of the ongoing lease. I don't think it's as easy as saying we quit and disclaim the...

    Springsteen at the (ACL) Ricoh

Oh torchy, just when I was starting to like you. ;) Like you say though, it's all about opinions. I don't much care for your collection of Max Bygraves, or that "Love Songs by Alvin and The Chipmunks" CD you keep playing, but I respect your right to choose. :D

    Looks like its walsall

Actually, what really ticks me off (other than the financial stuff) is when was the last time we finished a season at home? Seems like ages. (I'm probably wrong about this, too). I think the FL have always secretly hated us. Probably because we played in both the Third Division North and...

    Looks like its walsall

Noggin's right, I was wrong. The majority of times last season, our home fixtures clashed. Of course there is the complication of Wolves this year, and policing issues. Do Wolves/Walsall home fixtures clash? My gut feel is that this isn't a conspiracy, and it isn't a done deal. But I...

    Looks like its walsall

Actually, I stand corrected. Of last year's fixtures for those played on the same day, when Cov were at home, 15 times Walsall were also at home and 7 times they were away. Apologies.

First three fixtures at least, and at least some others after that. I haven't pulled them all apart, that's true enough. Have you?

    Looks like its walsall

This is exactly the same as last season, as far as I tell. When we were at home in the league, Walsall were away. http://stats.football.co.uk/results_fixtures/2012_2013/walsall/index.shtml http://www.statto.com/football/teams/coventry-city/2012-2013/results Are we reading too much into this...

Eek. I know it's the first sign of madness replying to your own posts, but this seems to be exactly what the Administrator is proposing. This from the Administrator's site: http://www.accountancyage.com/aa/news/2275360/david-rubin-administrators-line-up-buyer-for-coventry-fc# "All clubs that...

Understood - sorry. I think if this was the situation ACL would be daft not to challenge it. If the FL doesn't return the golden share to CCFC Ltd then as you say it's blindingly obvious that SISU's next move would indeed be to liquidate CCFC Ltd and break the lease. That would be an...

Hi osb, are you sure that the admin proposal for CCFC Ltd is liquidation? I thought it was being sold as a going concern to Otium, and exiting Admin via a CVA. Wouldn't liquidation actually mean the end of the club in the FL (the very reason ACL pushed for Administration)? In fact, as I...

    Knowl[GMK] says.....

My thoughts are that the independent party may yet need to be in the form of a judge, so that we can see how fair and proper (and feasible) the deal proposed by SISU and the Administrator really is. If ACL and SISU really can come to a deal that means CCFC stay at the Ricoh, great. But I...

    Takeover given go ahead

I think there's a bit of jumping the gun here. ACL haven't said what they're going to do yet in terms of perhaps challenging the Administrator's decision, and the FL haven't confirmed that Otium have met the "requirements of The League's insolvency policy", just that they'll work with them on...
