Come on G, I don't think Panzo is brilliant but he has played his part in the good as well as the bad defensively this season. The number of clean sheets to date attests that.
He does run back, you see O'Hare winning the ball about 30 yards from our goal or at least pressuring a player so they run into Hamer or Sheaf. It can't be understated how much he's missed.
Bidwell has got at least two assists (Godden at Millwall and Allen Saturday) think there might be another. The bigger point is that we give very little away down the left hand side as Bidwell is very solid defensively (Panzo less so but not to be so with Bidwell).
I mean the CEO is not exactly dynamic but surely any database collated whilst employed by CCFC is the intellectual property of CCFC (not that it gives any primary rights to sign any players on it). If not, what the fucking hell is going on?
SISU took over 14 December 2007, Dowie was sacked in February 2008 after 2 wins in 10 games (3 in 15 if you include 5 games prior to SISU's takeover). The trajectory under Dowie really was awful, so I think it was right to sack him but catastrophically wrong to appoint Coleman.
I'm not even sure given what has happened subsequently that Lampard was that bad at Chelsea, if they'd had a similar record this season to what they had under him they'd be sitting around 5th on 35 points.
He's never going to fare better in a Championship side, he's nowhere near good enough and the game at Championship level is more physical not less, it's physically in the sense of the pace that it is played at.
I doubt many clubs outside of the top flight genuinely have the sort of bargaining power you describe, it is nonsense. The player would be unsettled straight away.
In any event that's why you need targets, not a single target.
