Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

I've been told he was a bit of a twat. Not a role model for young players. No real surprise, is it?

Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

Charlie Adam alone cost more than we have spent since before the last January window. Even Blackpool that season look like billionaires compared to us. There hasn't been a side promoted from this division in 20 years with such poor resources. Survival to mid table is a realistic, stretching, target.

Le fondre "I was right to choose reading over Coventry"

Darn, you beat me to it! The worst case of this joke I have witnessed is Jarvis Cocker at the Reading Festival. He tried to string it out for about a minute, deadpan style. Not funny.

    Baker injury news?

Anybody heard how bad it is yet?

    Wheres Jordan Clarke gone ?

Yes he does. Knee ligaments-he was due for an operation round about now. It depends on how it goes but it'll be the rest of the year hoping to get back this season. Big loss if you ask me. We are asking our full-backs to cover the entire flank in our formation, so we could do with more of...

This week will prove 1 thing about sisu

I realise now that the fire engine reminds me of Banksy. There is a lot of potential for SISU-mocking art in his style!

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Oh and on "gloatwatch"..myself and I think a few others including OSB did say that this would happen-you can't play kids for 46 games a season and expect them to be consistent throughout. At worst, it can break them.

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Keogh says he is a RB. On the record he has said he'll play where the manager selects him if he thinks it's best for the side-he's a good honest pro, of course he will. But I have it on rock solid authority that he would rather be at RB! Agree with you otherwise though. And yes, AT is bound...

Are you a regular at the Ricoh

Season ticket holder, don't go to away games as I work alternate Saturdays-and it is often a mare trying to get home Saturdays off, but I didn't miss a game last season. Go to away preseason games, though, they're ace. I think this thread has proved it's point, anyway. Most people go to as...

Tactic talk what do you think?

Yep, that's exactly how I read it Bamalamafizzfazz. We out-passed and outnumbered teams in midfield last season: last night it was entirely the opposite.

    Lack experienced leader

"What, injured"? Beat you to it!

    Lack experienced leader

Yes, a Wise/Hutchinson/Hignett type in midfield would be awesome. Someone with experience, leadership, and most of all quality. With the diamond midfield you can carry a player whose legs have faded but who can unlock a defence-something Sheff was doing last season. Jesus, can you imagine...

QUALITY. Laughed so hard I choked on me cuppa tea.

How much time will AT be given?

The worry is however that the board/SISU are clueless enough about football to blame Thorn. Anyway..come on fellas, it was one bad game. A win against Reading and we'll feel completely different again. I'm worried about this season, for sure-but we aren't relegated yet, and the Derby game did...

Ah, so this is the post that got me enough "likes" to break the 100 mark whilst I was (ironically) too busy to post whilst at work? :D And I thought it was my pretty tactics "chalkboard" one! Don't much fancy my chances of keeping up a 1 in 10 strike-rate, although technically I should be...

    Baker out

Guess what folks-it's all about opinions! I thought Baker was generally good last week-as well as his goal he went close twice, and did a lot of the good things that others have pointed out. But he also gave the ball away a fair bit in the first 20 minutes before growing into the game. So I'm...

Tactic talk what do you think?

Agreed that Bigi and Sammy play in too similar position. Gael needs to be as central as possible, not playing as a defensive inside-right midfielder. I don't necessarily think we need to abandon the diamond, but as I said in last nights Tactics thread, it needs to be 5 yards higher up the pitch...

And a player who can play RB or CM, with fantastic positioning. Always rated him, would have been great for the kids. Possibly more of a replacement for Carsley than Aron, but would have been very handy. I worry about the kids' heads dropping now.

    Tactics

Oh come on, a bit of feedback..that took me ages. Tactics, innit? At least someone make a patronising comment about how I've played too much Football Manager. Seriously, look at my pretty picture, then watch the highlights on SKY in a bit. We have huge gaps where our midfield used to be...
