Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Just look at the last set of accounts which Swiss Ramble has analysed. They're all on there.

I'd say closer to £30m. Half of the league's wage bill ranges from £30m to over £100m+ at the time Leicester were last in the Championship. There was only a handful on £20m or less.

No. Latest accounts available are for 23/24 season.

I mean that's just not true is it. Their wage bill in their last set of accounts sat at around £31m - which is nowhere near parachute club level.

    Keeping Lampard

I think there's a pretty poor stigma against the Championship as a whole from the PL hierarchy in all honesty. When was the last time a PL side paid a Championship club the buy out clause for their manager?

Yep last time they didn't qualify was 2004. Mad really but it happens.

It didn't really make much of a difference to Sunderland's and Luton's promotion charge if you look at who they brought in. Possibly you could argue Sunderland more than Luton with Le Fee but he was incredibly average for the most part. I think it's a case of using the window to compliment...

    Ghana didn't qualify.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Would it though? Luton when they went up only brought a couple of players, Sunderland brought in a couple last January as well. I think if we utilise it correctly in terms of bringing in quality where it's needed then sure it's an important window but I'd only really qualify it as massive if...

    Keeping Lampard

I don't think his reputation has a player has much to do with it to be honest. In fact if anything his reputation as a player is what helped him in his early career to get the jobs he landed. His prior record in the PL, which FWIW isn't as bad as it's made out to be, is what's preventing him...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

With the greatest respect to Lampard how many Championship clubs genuinely have that kind of luxury...? It's exceptionally rare that if a key player is sold another is waiting in the wings ready and able to automatically step into their shoes. He's only really correct in theory.

In terms of quality the SPL is the worst it's been in decades. I genuinely see zero appeal in taking up a managerial job there, certainly not against a promotion chasing side in the Championship.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

It depends where we are with injuries ect. Calling it massive is a bit dramatic at this stage when really we need another winger and a midfielder probably at best. I wouldn't be doing too much to disrupt what could well be a very settled squad at that point apart from filling obvious gaps.

    Transfer Rumour Kaine Kesler-Hayden

Like with a lot of foreign players there probably needs to be a settling in period for Brau. Rather than throw him into the deep end just yet I think Lampard is probably biding his time with him and allowing him to adapt to English football at his own pace.

Next batch of 6 before the final break

We're bringing on players which are making a genuine contribution which was something we consistently lacked last season. I also think there's definitely a lot more thought about who to bring on and when.

Next batch of 6 before the final break

Wrexham and Portsmouth could cause us problems. Both teams are likely to hoof it and go direct which we've consistently looked uncomfortable facing in the past.

    Rivals for auto spots

Oh well there you go then. I rarely even start looking at the table or form trends until January. It's a pretty pointless exercise as so much can change.

Stoke's squad isn't great IMO. They don't have the quality to sustain their current form.

    Ellis simms

I was hugely critical of Simms last season. His performances to be honest were beyond unacceptable some games. It's a small sample but he looks far more assured and a much bigger threat, especially aerially. Having that goal threat off the bench, especially in games where we might be up...

While that might be true, Allen was probably one of the best players on the pitch today.
