Who are all these mythical tricky wingers we should consider? Please name them. I can remember the guy from Grimsby last year....anybody else?

Match Thread Wycombe Wanderers vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 1st Jan

Things I'd like to see:- 1. Professional footballers prepared to pass first time without always controlling it. That time taken controlling means you lose momentum and gives the opposition time to recover 2. Strikers hitting the target - Chaplin twice today, with little or no excuse, Hiwula...

Drop Chaplin; Hiwula and JCH up front. Thomas or Westbrook for Shipley

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Southend United Match Thread - Saturday 29th Dec

Too many team permutations are available, so hard to say what will happen. We apparently attacked hard against Charlton (and did so for the last 120 seconds against Luton) and i hope that continues. There is a lot of love for Thomas, but the end output was not always that great so he may not be...

I agree but it has to be said that this was before Sterling found his feet

    Strikers

Love Max, but saw him at Oxford in the night match. He was off the pace literally

Not a Chaplin fan but is movement for the first goal was excellent, as was the cross. Thomas could learn a thing or two from that

    Charlton highlights

it was all down to chaplin - good reverse turn like the one at their place. Oh and poor Charlton closing down

    Player ratings

He's quite a good crosser - better than Thomas I suspect - but not quick enough to play out wide. His lack of over the ground speed is the most worrying aspect of his game

No Doyle or Ogogo in the team or subs..........

God knows what team to play........ Stay solid at back so I guess Sterling - Davies - Willis - Brown After that it's anyone's guess. Players do grow into positions, as you can see how attitudes to Sterling in particular but also Brown and even Bakayoko have changed. So I would stick with Ogogo...

No it doesn't. JCH on is own not working so had to be altered. There have been plenty on here who have said play Bayliss on the wing with two harder men in central midfield. Doyle injured. Sterling back = good. The only genuine surprise is Davies. The key thing will be how far UP the pitch...

    At home playing 4 1 4 1

I thought it was -4-5-1 as well At the least he could have left Shipley on the left and tried Hiwula up front with JCH

I agree with all of that. A Bayliss-Kelly-Doyle-Thomas has been the obvious choice for a couple of weeks now. Last Saturday Allessani did more than enough to warrant a longer sub appearance

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Luton Town Match Thread - Saturday 15th Dec

We were beaten by the better (and physically bigger) side. 1-2 was flattering. Could have been worse. That it was going to be bad was obvious after as little as 5 minutes We set up as 4-5-1 - for a home match very defensive. Shipley and Hiwula were both on the left, but JCH all on his lonesome...
