Yes, reading between the lines, it seems he’s prepared to go on a free. He’ll get himself fit, by his own admission, then enter into talks. Maybe he has had a few offers already, which isn’t a surprise. Which is a shame, as he’s been a pivotal player for us, over four years (?).

In all seriousness, if it’s in his best interests, and ours, and if the interest is genuine, then a £1.7m loss in January is better than more (potentially) by the end of the season.

Could be a thrashing, or a turning point. Who knows. Either way, the problems are obvious, MR has to act accordingly, or the morale will hit rock bottom sooner rather than later.
