Just listened to Pet Sounds. I like it and for when it came out is sounds fresh. As for being a classic and one of the best ever albums though I'm not so sure ? Who makes these claims ? I rave about Fire and Water by Free and In Search Of Space by Hawkwind. But I guarantee someone will say both...

I've never had Pet Sounds and hear its classed as an all time great album,so when I saw it in the shop I knew I'd have to buy it. I'll play it later and get back !
