Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

I'm not sure they've been banned from talking to SISU as much as advised by the legal department to refrain from commenting on the case. I think this is fairly common when you've got a big legal case coming up - the idea is that you don't want to give the other side something that they'll try...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

The problem is that once stuff goes to court both sides will only want to release the 'facts' that suit their case. We've been here before, I think. I'm all for a truly independent enquiry, in which all sides are obliged to open up - at the moment all we're seeing is the council coming under...

Council and Sky Blues in court tomorrow

Ta for the updates Simon. With all this going on wouldn't it be cheaper for the CET to just buy you a flat near the High Court - your expenses must be crippling. ;) It seems a bit late in the day for this, are SISU still looking for the 'smoking gun'? In truth though I sort of hope they win...

    Judicial Review thread

I don't think it goes quite this far. Councils lose JRs from time to time, I can't remember ever hearing of councillors resigning as a result. If the council lose the JR, I think the impact is that ACL will probably have to find alternative funding. It doesn't hand everything over to SISU...

    Ricoh sponsor value

Don't quote me on this, but I think it started to move to AWD when talking about saloons and family cars (think Subaru, Volvo, Audi), to differentiate them from the (infrequently) muddy monsters known as 4WD. I'm kind of old school on this, having worked for LR back in the day. It's not a true...

    Ricoh sponsor value

All Wheel Drive. For Land Rovers, 4WD (4-Wheel Drive) might probably be a more traditional way of putting it. I'm not sure that anyone's seriously suggesting a Land Rover theme park at the Ricoh - but as long as the club isn't there who cares what they do to make a few bob, imho.

Festa to spend £180mill in 3 years

Ah no, didn't mean it like that - fair play to them. It's just that the whole set up of the PL stinks now. The game has gone crazy, and all of the money ends up in the hands of a few top players whilst most clubs and fans below the very top suffer. To be competitive in the PL now, you seem to...

It'll go pop, sooner or later. It's unsustainable this, surely.

Ricoh Arena sponsors want Sky Blues return

To be fair that's obviously not true. In all honesty though, I wonder if the numbers watching the Football League show to the bitter end (when we're normally on) are any higher than the ones watching the snooker on ITV4! ;)

Ricoh Arena sponsors want Sky Blues return

More emotive language here - and the offering once again of opinion as fact. "I can almost smell the fear, as those desperate for the Ricoh to fail begin to realise that it isn't going to happen". It's just as valid a statement that - and similarly ludicrous. The truth is that we simply don't...

    Council Protest

Seriously, how on earth can you post about ad hominem attacks when you're pretty much the worst offender here calling people idiots and wankers because they dare to disagree with you. You do know what ad hominem means, right? If you want to debate based on facts, then this isn't a bad place...

    Council Protest

I'm not sure I need to have a guess, I'm not the one saying that it's costing the city millions. However, you could try some sort of equation, Num Supporters * Num Games * Amount Spent. And if you were lazy that could well give you a figure that goes into the millions. Of course though, that...

    Council Protest

I haven't got a bee in my bonnet because people are protesting, but I get a little irritated when people throw things around like 'it's costing the city millions' without any attempt to provide evidence. Let's face it mate, you're the one who gets upset and runs away when challenged to to...

    Council Protest

So in other words this £2.5m is a number without any evidence. Sort of a 'fat bloke down the pub says that we're losing two million quid a year in Foleshill' kind of thing. Sorry mate, but there's not much point in quoting figures like this to support your case. There has to be some attempt...

Did you have a point to make? It's just that there are some people here with something moderately interesting to say, regardless of viewpoint, and then there's you...

Andy Turner tells it how it is...

Amazing. Andy Turner doesn't agree with what you're saying, so he must be 'frothing' over it. Or is he getting his knickers in a twist? If you can't see why this pisses people off, you're not getting it. I'd like to take my family to watch CCFC, but I'm not going to go to Northampton to do...

Coventry City given Football League award for providing families with an ‘outstanding

Hmm... on the one side there's no doubt that the people looking after the kids who do go to Northampton are doing a good job. On the other side the club, by their actions, have ensured that a far larger number of people who would take their kids, can or will no longer do so. I don't see how...

trouble brewing - future football league sanctions?

I think in fairness (and I detest the FL), this actually is quite a smart play. It does, in theory, give them the nuclear option of excluding the club from the league, which is an even bigger threat than (another) points deduction. If they left it until after the fixtures have been arranged...

trouble brewing - future football league sanctions?

Blimey, ML is a better spinner than Shane Warne. Not sure about "bank transfer mechanics"? It's pretty straightforward really, one company authorises the bank to transfer money to the other company. All you need are the sort-code, account name, and account number - or you could even write a...
