I’m reminded of the operation Premiership/Micky Adams season… we finally got a bit of money sold McSheffrey - and signed Leon McKenzie and Kevin Kyle - great times

I could probably name at least 10 players in the past 10 years I’d have Wright over. Let alone 140

I’d still have Haji Wright over Nick Proschwitz 2bh

Which is fine. You’re right - but we’re stuck with Kelly and Eccles in CM for 3 months. They’re not the creative midfielders we desperately need

Which is outrageous given the money we’ve spent

How many more weeks before we’re up to scratch because of the play offs?

The alarm bells were ringing when Hamer needed to come on to beat Exeter. We should have prioritised a central midfielder then

    Signs are looking good

Further to this how many of our current players played in the play off final? From the starting 11 McFadz, Sheaf, Kelly, Eccles, Godden? 3 Are arguably our better performers. Kelly is a yard off the pace and has been for sometime and Eccles is Eccles. also Hamer is already the best player in a...

Literally one week before the final. that one extra week rest isn’t going to make that much difference in the grand scheme of things

    Signs are looking good

Sunderland aren’t doing too badly - I recall them being in the play offs

    Signs are looking good

Only 3 that play in a similar position to Hamer. Kelly, Eccles, Sheaf - the others are Attacking midfielders. You could make a case for Allen but we don’t have anybody who plays the same role as Hamer

    Signs are looking good

What I’m concerned about is the midfield of Eccles and Kelly. When we’re spunking 5m on a player we didn’t necessarily need in Kitching - we should have been looking for a Hamer replacement, given how good he was last season we should have had a plan for his departure. Not preparing for this...

Players who always play well against us

Romaine Sawyers always controlled games against us for Walsall if I recall

Top 100 Cov players of all time

I don’t dispute that even about Wilson. He contributed more than Westwood but he’s not a better keeper. I just think looking a the whole picture - he was a prem goalkeeper for us at 18. He stood out in a team that got relegated and got a move to Liverpool for 6m whilst we were in the second...

Top 100 Cov players of all time

He was playing premier league football at 18/19. Talent was there and he became the highest transfer for a teenage goalkeeper at the time. To this day if it weren’t for injuries he’d have been Englands number 1 over Robinson
