Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Sunday 29th Dec

Just out this afternoon after 7 days. Come out with a liver issue now too. Hopefully it will all sort itself out over the next few weeks. Thanks for asking and remembering.

Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Sunday 29th Dec

I had to watch the match on my phone so really difficult to pick out individual performances. However, what was apparent to me was how committed we were to the 50:50s in the second half. That was far different to what we were seeing early season under Robins. They really did dig in. It wasn't...

Unfortunately missing it, being stuck in hospital. If Mason-Clark is out, then I would either have Rudoni on the left and Torp in behind, or Bassette on the left with Thomas-Asante up top. Him over Simms because of the energy he brings and he is better centrally.

Dovin 7 - I really think he will be a very good keeper. Very comfortable with the ball at his feet but not casual (as is Collins). His save in the first half was top draw. Van Erwijk 7 Thomas 7 Latibeudiere 8.5 (uses his body so well. An intelligent footballer) Bidwell 7.5 Sheaf 8 Eccles 9...

Good question. I always go by the rating from the old match magazine where a 4 was the lowest score you can get (very poor) so that is my lowest rating. However Collins didn't justify that, hence the 3

Managed to watch the match with a burst appendix. Not sure what was worse. Now had appendix removed so hopefully get back home to watch Plymouth game. Could really do with a comfortable performance

Everything he does is casual. It is as if he isn't being paid as a professional. More like having a kick about with his mates. Absolutely cruising until his derisory attempt for first goal. However, the rest of the team needed to step up and instead they crumbled.

    Keepers going down feigning injury

Maybe enforce the sub keeper to come on for a minimum period of time. If the keeper is genuinely injured, then it can classed as a substitution. Although the manager could still use this to break up play and communicate tactics, they are less likely to risk disrupting the team.

    Mason-Clark Appreciation Thread

When you're trusted, it makes a difference. Really pleased for him.

There are definitely some improved performances. Mason-Clark was excellent and Rudoni very good too. Thomas was solid. Sakamoto good. And though I am his biggest critic, Collins pulled two very good saves.

How on earth are we losing that?! Van Erwijk is really starting to get on my nerves with his performances. He is so careless in possession and his crossing from good positions is so poor. We need more runs driving at their defence. Its all too deliberate.

None of our middle three are getting on the ball. Eccles the most involved out of the 3. Sakamoto gives some creativity but we need more. Too slow out from the back too. We are looking defensively stronger on the whole.

    Favourite player......

Normally a favourite of mine is a talented player who comes across us being 'nice'. Unfortunately, there has been noone that has stood out for performance. As far as how they come across, I would say Thomas-Asante and Latibeudiere. I also like Jamie Allen for his workrate. So, probably some of...

    Relegation fodder

Ownership, managers and pundits need to stop saying that we have a quality squad and are in a false position. I feel we're actually quite fortunate not to be in the bottom 3 on performances alone. If we had a 'lesser quality squad', maybe they would realise that success will be determined by...

Thought he was involved in most things going forward and I was watching how he was taking up excellent positions. Would have scored him a 8 first half but then he couldn't maintain his involvement second half but he still retained the ball okay.

Collins 5 (when you want a brick wall you get paper) Van Erwijk 4 (starting to wonder if pace is his only asset) Thomas 5 (passing woeful) Binks 6 (part of a shaky defence but at least he is willing to drive forward with the ball) DaSilva 6 (retained the ball better than most but is always going...

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Saturday 30th Nov

The disgrace of the recruitment is that Van Erwijk can put in performances like that, knowing that there is noone to replace him. Collins hopefully will be dropped and Torp to come in for Eccles, who has been very poor since signing a new contract. Rudoni and Sakamoto started well but faded...
