if you recall last summer they made a few high profile free transfers and paid big wages to get them …. It was a promotion gamble …. Didn’t pay off …. Very few Championship clubs can match the wages so West Brom would need to use part of the transfer fee to pay off In this case Swift.

It’s more than a guess. wages are likely the issue ….. needs a pay off from West Brom to proceed I would guess

I think this is an odd take. It is perfectly possible we have tried repeatedly to spend good money on a midfielder but have been blown away on wages, or by a higher rated team. That is football. I can excuse that. don’t get me wrong I’ll be frustrated and disappointed but I understand that...

It depends on whether you measure squad depth just by numbers or by the quality of the players in the squad. we are lighter on numbers but I think better in quality overall.

I think O’Brien has been rumoured both on here and in the papers …. Outside of that you are right it’s been incredibly quiet. Kitch, Cashin, and Brekalo rumours for centre half. I font think I’ve seen a single rumour for the attacking / wide player with pace since Dragus
