Yes it was a small village. Where the Walsgrave Club and Co Op shop is now, that used to be a farmers field, where us kids played football on, and staged wrestling bouts after watching the wrestling on the telly on Saturday afternoons !
I was brought up in Walsgrave and have only great memories of the place. I live in Bell Green these days but I could leave this area tomorrow and it would mean nothing to me, but Walsgrave will always be a place I have fond memories of. Then again it used to be a village until it was built on...
Last week I spent a couple of days doing some gardening for a customer on Woodway Lane. Nothing unusual in that but it was just 2 doors away from my families old house, a home my parents lived in for forty plus years. It had changed a fair bit but looking at it again properly for the first time...
It's 3 days on from Fridays night match and I'm still buzzing and feel happy, and usually on Monday's I'm struggling a bit. My son said it was the happiest he'd seen me for ages, and I wanted the night to go on much longer. The scenes at the end of the match were brilliant, it was like a...
On a similar theme I brought my son to the game, his first away game this season. He may be 34 years old but at the end I hugged him and we did a jig together.
That's what football can do to you !
Young Shipley at the end came over to celebrate with us fans, he went away, came back again, went away, then decided he wanted to come over again.I loved that and you just knew he wanted to jump in the crowd.
That was brilliant !
Yes I saw loads get off to get a train/tram into Nottingham. I had my son with me who likes playing pool, so as I told him about Ruddington we stayed on the coach. Gil is going to give him some boxing sessions, and they got on well as they hadn't met before.
Doyle was superb as were all the players. Loved it at the end when they came over to us, it showed to me why I support this club, for all what we've been through we're all in this together.
Just heard this tragic news. Was it natural causes or suicide ? But as Houch wrote earlier the hit and run driver won't be affected, his mind won't be wired up to care, as a psycopath he'll be more concerned on himself. But what a sad state of affairs this has turned out to be, truly horrific.
As an anti royal I won't be watching any of the royal wedding, and although I like the tradition of the FACup Final I can't stand Chelsea and Man Utd, so not that bothered in viewing that match. So please Coventry City win tomorrow night to make my Saturday worthwhile !
Anybody else feel the same?
