    Huddersfield after Pressley

It means something, I think. Those odds represent people putting money down, so presumably there's more money going on SP than anyone else. I'm guessing it's not a particularly big market, the next Huddersfield manager, so someone lumping a load on Pressley could probably skew the odds quite a...

    BBC 7... tonight

Wireless telegraphy, old chap. Noises through the ether, as opposed to via two chaps at either end of a bit of cable tapping out morse code to each other. But where's the romance, eh. Anyway, I've knocked me crystal now, and if I don't get the wire in the right spot I'll miss the end of...

    Huddersfield after Pressley

Unless SP is very different to everyone else working in football, he'll go when a better offer comes along. I don't think he's done enough for us yet to have really interested Huddersfield, but it's possible I guess. The only thing that might make SP stick around for longer, would (possibly)...

I told you Reda was mental

Always good to have a new legend in the offing - it sounds like the pen may have been slightly dubious, but then I would say that! Looks like you're off to a good start. Would be good to see the Owls do well, many happy memories of trips to Hillsborough - regardless of results. :)

    Football league meeting today?

So basically then, unless I've misread the FL statement, the 'guarantor' payments are irrelevant to what ACL should receive, but the additional costs of the adminstration mean that ACL are now only entitled to £471k, rather than £598k. I think the good news is that this at least gets rid of...

    Looks like we're back

If I've got this right, what Grendel is saying that the average Sixfields attendance represents supporters that might have just taken in an occasional game. On that basis he suggests it should be inflated to a larger figure. However, he completely disregards the fact that every other average...

    Football league meeting today?

Be fair mate. No one has a five hour lunch break, not even the FL. As I understand it their schedule is actually rather hectic, as below: 9 - 10: Breakfast 10 - 11: Tiffin (a personal favourite) 11 - 12: Elevenses 12 - 3: Lunch 3 - 4: Tea break 4 - 5: Dinner 5:00pm - hometime.

    Football league meeting today?

I wasn't sure about the escrow thing, but in this article the FL spokesman says... "The Football League is in ongoing discussions with Coventry City and ACL regarding monies owed under the club’s membership agreement with the league. At the current time, the two parties are interpreting...

    Football league meeting today?

Absolutely. I don't care whether the decision today is 'pro' ACL, or 'pro' SISU or is something that they both hate. Couldn't give a monkey's. The key thing is that the FL come to a clear, unambiguous decision, with no room for dicking about by anyone. Then at least that's one hurdle...

    Gaël Bigirimana

It's a moot point I suspect, but I'd have him back like a shot. Certainly has tons of potential, just needs to get a steady run of games somewhere to see if that can be turned into regular performances. I think he'd fit SP's high-tempo, high-pressing game rather nicely, imho.

You're going to get a lot of traffic HH. I'd go for Alhambra, Phoenix and Fletch if you've got anything. :)

Cheers HH, that brings back some memories - staggering down from The Old Red Horse, past The Mercers, into the East Stand, ten minutes late for kick-off, as usual. ;)

Great to have some stuff like that Torchy, linking the generations. If nothing else, it shows that the one constant at the club is the fans, and how closely they hold it to their hearts. When it's time to pass it on, you've got to make the lad promise not to sell it to fund a weekender in...

    Looks like we're back

I think that's what I'd vote for, personally. I can't understand how a couple of years on from the £9bn Olympics there isn't any desire or capability to keep that kind of facility. Where's the "legacy"? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a swimmer myself, but we're as far from the sea as you can...

Not denigrating the OP, and I'd love it to be true, but it just feels like we've down this road a few times already. Here's hoping though. :)

    Review from Sideways Sammy

I'll give you this, it's much better when you come out straight, rather than just making snide asides and trying to hide the insults. I'm not going to try to convince you that I love the club - that would be a waste of time. For someone who claims to have observed a lot of posts my though, you...

Interesting that you're now pretending that a post directly quoting me, actually wasn't aimed at me. Why are you backtracking Grendel? I was going to let rip here, but honestly, man-to-man, what you're doing is really pretty sad. There's no insult I could throw at you that you haven't heard...

Come off it - I was just trying to politely point out to LJC that he might be winding people up a bit with some general comments. He seems to be pretty good at defending himself with regard to individuals - I'm leaving them to it. If I wanted to make a general point, it's this: Some people...
