Maybe the club think they are beating many other clubs to the player by agreeing to this clause. If he’s coming for 4 years then it makes sense to secure him.

You are correct. He’s predominantly a defender but does very occasionally play as a CDM. I’ve only ever noticed him as a defender.

Back on topic … I still expect one loan signing today but probably a gamble. Robins can see what we can see but by now, with our main targets not achievable, I’m sure we are left with unproven players that have potential or aging players that need a new challenge …..

I totally agree. if you are 6th come February and you have money to invest it’s strange if you don’t. I assume it’s because we have missed out on our targets rather than lack of ambition.

I can’t agree with this. it is based on the assumption that none of our key players get injured or get tired / suspended. we don’t have cover for Tats or Wright…. Sheaf is a cut above our other CDM’s. We might get lucky on injuries but if we don’t we are not the same team. Bringing in cover...

I’m happy for the old guard to move on if they are no longer at the level we need. They deserve to play at the right level and we get the opportunity to find new players to get excited by. I can honestly say watching Tats this season has been fantastic. Seeing his growing understanding with MVE...
