Or the ref adds loads of time on and you concede in the 7th minute of injury time. How many times over the last few seasons have we benefitted with late goals due to teams' shithousing? Loads. Can't stand shithousing and time-wasting, when 90 minutes is done and you're winning, you want as...

We were better with Eccles and Rudoni on the pitch and had a better chance of seeing the game out with them on. They are (currently, with Sheaf coming back from injury) our best midfielders. Do you leave them on and risk fatigue at the weekend? I probably wouldn't, tbf. It's way more...

Gave the ball away at the start of the move for the equaliser. He was good up until the last ten minutes when he tired, though. And was probably left on because he's least likely to start on Saturday.

    Game management

This thread is an over-reaction. This was a game in the lesser cup competition and players were taken off with a more important league game on Saturday in mind. We were also playing a team who were able to bring on top class internationals. It was a sickening way to lose, but hardly warrants...

Up until the substitutions, though, we were superb. Rudoni, Bassette and Thomas-Asante all immense. I'm absolutely gutted, though.

    On this day in 2001

Strange. I've not seen that since the game itself, and the goal's pretty much exactly as I remember, but I could have sworn it happened in front of the West End, where I sat. Strachan was an odd one; there's no doubt he gave us some of the most entertaining teams many of us would have seen, but...

That doesn't mean he's not a better player than O'Hare, though, which he clearly is. Though with all the sour grapes, there is some serious revisionism of how important O'Hare was to us, too. Ultimately, though, who cares. Neither play for us.

    The no loans strategy

And I don't think our centre halves do look particularly lost. I don't think they're out strongest partnership, but I don't think they're the problem, either.

    Doyle was excellent today.

    The no loans strategy

We've had a series of good loan centre backs since getting back in the Championship. In fact, the only one who wasn't a success was Panzo.

Thomas had a bad start. Binks has been decent. I would play them though. Thomas is our best defender, and Kitching is good at passing through the lines, which we don't have at all at the moment. Puts us on the front foot.

Yes, first half, though not brilliant, we were the better team and should have been ahead. Second, they made a couple of tweaks, and whilst never being particularly threatening, nullified us completely, passed around us at will, got a lucky goal and then had a pretty easy win. We were...

From what I've seen so far, we aren't close to being a top half team. Three abysmal performances with a lucky point and a win against last year's League 1 play off winners. Amazing.

Absolutely fucking embarrassing. No composure or clue at all. Tactically inept.

This is absolutely abysmal. This is nothing to do with not being able to land a quality midfielder in the window. It's just a shit team being completely outbattled by an average one.
