Yes I read it Houch. The print was small though,so will try and get the new version. It was harrowing in places, but humour in there too.

My sister who's a nurse said some years back they had some nuns working on wards, and she thought they'd be compassionate etc, but not at all. Aggressive and strict and unsuitable for nursing.

What are you currently listening to?

A mate of mine gave me a box set 3 CDs of Dylan tracks from the sixties to the 80's. Many tracks I've never heard before, plus some classics. One-track Masters Of War is awesome, listening to the words it sounds fresh and spot-on with things going on today. I've just played Tombstone Blues half...

    Tattoos

Fair enough. I've stopped applying for certain jobs now anyway, got fed up with rejection. A woman from NACRO told me some years back that because of my " violent past" teaching jobs would unfortunately be out of the question. Anyway when I was in my fifties,I applied for a voluntary teaching...

I don't mind now to be honest. It was when I was with my missus and she'd get me to get her pints instead of halves. She'd have 3or 4 and be all over the place, and acting stupid. I got her back on a few halves, and she drank pints with her mates. Maybe it is old fashioned view though !

    Tattoos

There was a phone in on the radio the other day about tattoos. Some for them, some against. As an ex prisoner my past life is never far from me,as whilst inside I got tattoos done on my hands and arms, I did a few on my own, and a cell mate who was a tattooist on the out did the rest. Indian ink...

    Thanks but no thanks

Phone in on the radio. A woman was saying bring her back, she's just a child, blah blah blah. A bloke said she will come back and drive a car down a busy road and kill many people. The silly do gooder woman said don't be silly, as she wouldn't be able to drive as it's forbidden for women to...

Having A Bet Now And Again

Off thread a little. On my round today down Walsgrave, an elderly couple who I've cleaned their windows for years, they were both visibly upset. They'd not long been back from hospital, not for either of themselves, but their grandson who's in his 20's has attempted suicide. He has cut his...

Having A Bet Now And Again

A bloke who lives here in Bell Green is a friendly type and appears to be harmless. But heard recently he's barred from the 2 bookies in Bell Green for aggressive behaviour, when he loses on the machines he punches and kicks the machine ! Wolf in sheep's clothing !

Having A Bet Now And Again

I won £78.00 yesterday on a bet on England winning the match by a margin of between 36-40 points. Surprised and happy, as it is a big margin to win by. The lady who served me in the bookies paid out and remembered me putting the bet on, she said well done as she thought I'd no chance. I bet once...

    SAS who dares wins

What I noticed at the end was the 2 blokes broke down when told they'd passed, but the woman stayed calm.

    SAS who dares wins

Disagree Nick. They're not going to become soldiers and it's a TV programme, so well done and on your way is a good ending I reckon.

    SAS who dares wins

Liked the way it ended with no winner, just 3 passed together. To get to the final stages they're all winners. Good programme.
