Match Thread Coventry v Sunderland Championship Playoff 1st Leg Friday 9th May

God knows what is going to happen. Should not be too swayed by their recent form as they have had little to play for for quite a while now. You could see that when we played them a few weeks ago. They will be up for it, surely. So expect a tight game and just coming out ahead. A two goal lead...

If memory serves me (always a risk) we had Madeley in one game and he did a good job

The question that always dogs me...why are professional footballers frequently so poor with their weaker foot. Mystifies me. I reckon I was better with my left foot back in the day than some of them. And I was crap..

MOTM Super Ben Wilson & Jack Rudoni Hon Mention for BTA, who did what Wright should have done earlier and squared it . Defence got a bit lucky - Boro created some good chances A really good action packed game.

This is just jealousy. If those two American actors had turned up here we would have welcomed them with open arms. If you want any club, not just City, to survive in the Prem you need a rich owner of some sort, be it a sheik or an American actor, to top up the media money. Without that you get...

    Ticket for Boro game

I have my season ticket but cannot make the game. Trouble is I am in Italy until late Thursday, and live in Oxfordshire. Happy to give it to you if we can make a physical transfer some time on Friday, or even Saturday early AM, somewhere in between. I will keep an eye on this thread.

    Highfield Road 1967

I was there aged 14. Persuaded a mate to go with me. Got a position immediately in front of the Sky Blue Stand where there was a ledge higher than the others, so I could see the game. Still beats the Cup Final for me.

In the light of the news about MVE, It will also be piss poor management if Frank sticks rigidly to 4-3-3 or a variation of it. Situation cries out for safety in numbers

I thought Rudoni was good pretty much from the start. There is a post of mine from an early game but I can't be arsed to retrieve it. I likened him to Ian Gibson (see pic left) 1966-70. But he's better, more consistent if less spectacular than Gibbo. I haven't loved a single City player so much...

    Jack rudoni

We should also remember that for a good part of his time here O'Hare couldn't hit a barn door let alone the goal and contrived to miss loads of chances. You can never say that about rudoni

    Jack rudoni

I just put this on twitter. Might just as well elaborate it and stick it here. He has the most unbelievably fast feet (although JDS ran him close a couple of times yesterday) and those corners have the shape of the perfect 7 iron, hanging before dropping right in the danger zone I don't...

    Grimes Sheaf Rudoni

If both were 100% fit and on form who is the better fit for us? My punt is Grimes even though he is in £ terms valued at less. I would love Grimes to use those wonderfully precise passing skills a bit further forward

wider gap = fewer policemen = less cost. Narrow gap = more policemen but they also have a much higher gate fee to pay for them. I dunno, I'm guessing.

It is not just mve's speed to recover, he's so good at the block and getting goalside. JDS lacks those body positioning skills as well. Shame because on the ball etc etc

    Player Ratings v Hull

Rudoni self evidently motm. Can we keep him? MVE and Sheaf also had good games. Every time I see JDS scampering to catch an opposition winger left unattended my heart sinks. In the same situation you would always back MVE Collins could do nothing about the goal and his distribution was very...
