Where have you been wingy ?

The 60's/70's to me was the best era for football and music. Obviously younger people would say their decades are better. But in the sixties and seventies you had the Beatles, The Kinks, The Small Faces, Troggs, Free, then along came bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Saxon...

There was a winger in Bestie's era called Ian Storey Moore. He was brilliant at Forest and ended up at Man Utd. Best was number one of all time, but Storey Moore wasn't far behind.

I saw Bestie play us 3 times. Twice at Highfield Road and once at Old Trafford. He was a great player, one of the best of all time. But strangely he was fairly ordinary against us but that didnt stop the crowd getting excited whenever he got the ball. Without doubt an all time great.

It's rumoured that Meghan bird is bossy and well up herself, and orders people around. Didn't take long did it!

We had a keeper just before Glazier called Bob Wesson. He was similar to Burge, one game good, the next shambolic. I remember a match at Molinuex verses Wolves, the City fans weren't happy with his performances leading up to this game, but he turned in probably his best ever performance that...

When I was a kid and on the Spion Kop stood with my dad, he and a few other City fans would shout out at Lightning saying " robbed any houses lately ? " My dad said he was a burglar ! To this day I don't know if it was just rumour or truth ? But he was a character.

Anybody rated Sealey ? I used to clean his Windows when he was living near Ringwood Highway. He was a bit of a nutter on the pitch at times !

With Oggy retiring me and a mate on Sunday got talking about keepers. He said he never rated Oggy and I reckon Bill Glazier was the best between the sticks. I rated Jim Blyth highly too. So who do you rate as our best goalkeeper?

A shop keeper told me today that a 70 year old chap who sits on the bench in the precinct in Bell Green, got assaulted this week by youths. They kicked him in the head ! They know who did it, but the police said they can't charge them. Modern life ?

Watch out though as they'll be a Bounty on your head !

Been playing Fire and Water a lot recently by Free. Got to be my favourite album. I remember buying it when it first came out in 1970 on vinyl, now listen to it on CD. Classic album by a brilliant band.
