    Observations tonight....

I thought both our centre halves stood up well tonight.

New Head of Recruitment - Chris Badlan

Yes I agree, that’s what I said in my second post.

New Head of Recruitment - Chris Badlan

Yep, and hopefully we’ll get benefit if he gets sold this summer. In fairness, he wasn’t hard to spot.

New Head of Recruitment - Chris Badlan

My Norwich fan friend just texted me to say that our team will be full of German crap next year! To be fair, their German manager, Farke, has probably driven their recruitment in that direction.

New Head of Recruitment - Chris Badlan

Ha! Ask a Norwich fan! They have signed a number of German players from the second tier, very few of whom have worked out!

    George Hudson

Yes, I remember how excited I was when my little football team signed the great Ray Pointer.

    George Hudson

Back to the 60’s - Gerry Baker? Ray Pointer? Big names at that time. Pointer didn’t stay long, but scored a goal every other game.

Well, I hope your time to see new City legends will come before too long. And, although I’ve had the pleasure of seeing just about all of the legends mentioned in this post (but not Clarke Bourton!), i’m an old bastard, and what I wouldn’t give to be 23 again!!

    George Hudson

My first ever league game was at home to Halifax Town, 6 April, 1963. City won 5-4 and George Hudson scored a hat trick on his debut. No wonder I was hooked! He was a hero, but going back to that era, Bobby Gould was a hero to every young Cov kid, and I also thought that Neil Martin was a very...

    Legends Day Line Up Announced

Great post, well said. We do like to belittle don’t we? Quentin Young - joined us from Rangers, I think?

    Babies at Cov games

There was an item about her in the Sheff U programme when we played there a good number of years ago. She went to Uni in Sheffield and used to go and watch the Blades with this soft toy, which she called Sheff. I actually saw her with ‘Sheff’ at that game. She was in the Cov end supporting...

    Babies at Cov games

Wasn’t there an incidence earlier in the season - Everton perhaps? Where a guy was filmed throwing punches with a young child wrapped around his neck?

    So how does this work?

    Home Areas Yesterday

We watched the Mansfield game in their main stand, and it is a good way of seeing the game properly, although you miss the bonding with fellow fans. Although I think I’m a pretty fanatical fan, I don’t find it hard to sit on my hands when we score. I think it’s a respect thing, football is...

    Crawley Highlights

Yeh for the first goal the defender missed it completely - perhaps unsighted by the keeper and put off by our player near the line?

    Crawley Highlights

Did it? I didn’t see that.

    Final 7 prediction’s.

We could improve our goal difference on Friday night, we are just 2 goals worse off than Mansfield and Lincoln, a 3-0 win takes us above them - before they play again! And if we beat Lincoln at home, that would be another huge step forward.

Match Thread Coventry City at Crawley Town Match Thread - Saturday 14th Apr

Yep, I see that same polar opposite reactions from our fans every time we lose. Last time was Notts County where most fans applauded our players for their efforts, but as I looked across the stand, I could see different groups of fans making abusive gestures (I’m sure I don’t need to spell it...

Possibly, don’t think he expected a shot, and may well have been unsighted. Nice finish, though.

    Video Crawley v Coventry

Embarrassed I think, wasn’t it the classic taking his eye off the ball to watch the goalkeeper and misskicking the ball? He did improve us immeasurably, however, when he came on.
