    December Stadium Deadline

I'm afraid the worn out line that Wasps aren't from London is utter bullshit trotted out to pretend that this isn't somehow a franchise. I can live with people supporting Wasps, if that's what they want to do and they can live with themselves doing it. What I can't tolerate is this sort of...

    December Stadium Deadline

And again, I find myself in agreement here. Worrying. I wonder if the missus has secretly upped my dosage without telling me. ;) Like pretty much everyone here, I have very serious doubts that SISU have any genuine plan for a stadium, let alone a comprehensive one. I'd be right behind your...

    December Stadium Deadline

Here's the question again, because you seem a bit obsessed with the whole 60-acre thing and planning permission thing Is anyone in the city council going to help the club find an area for the stadium? Who knows what's available until someone actually looks. As others have mentioned maybe...

    December Stadium Deadline

I know we come at this from different places on much of this, SBT, but I absolutely see what you're saying here. I suppose the only argument against it is SISU's suggestion that it's going to be partly funded by having retail space available. If true, of course, that will make planning...

    Refugees welcome?

The problem with tear gas, as I understand it, is that it's quite difficult to aim. I suppose if you froze it you could just fire it in lumps at the 'underserving poor' males, say between the ages of 18-50. Even better if you were careful and just fired at the ones wearing "Benefit Slacker...

    December Stadium Deadline

The question was - is anyone in the city council going to help the club find an area for the stadium? I've said what I think the answer to that is, and why. The council can't legally hinder an application, but if they don't support it then they can certainly make it a lot more awkward for it...

    December Stadium Deadline

Rather the opposite, I think. The political support is all behind Wasps, as well it might be. If Wasps goes tits up, or just ends up with low to middling support, then it won't look good for the Councillors who endorsed selling it to them. As far as CCFC goes, the council need CCFC to stay at...

Burge is going to give me a heart attack!

That's exactly what I'd say. We should get right behind him when he plays, but personally I think we could use someone else in there at the moment. Any other managers watching the Burton game will surely highlight his poor handling of the high ball, and look to target that weakness.

    Mowbray says... / Marc-Antoine Fortune

Good signing this, like it. Like TM says, there's a lot of experience here and at a very decent level. Happy. :) Edit: At 2.32m he'll also come in handy for cleaning the gutters and getting the ball out of the trees at Ryton. ;)

    Gypsies

What annoys me most is the foul mess they leave behind. I don't want to suggest that they're all criminals, I'm sure they're not. If they choose to live outside society and they can make their own way without pissing everyone else off then that's fair enough. However it does seem as though...

city miss out - what a load of rubbish

I've no love for our owners, but I'd still rather we lived within our means. I don't know if we'll make it out of L1 this season, but I sense it's going to be an interesting journey. What I don't want is to gamble the club's future on a sh*t-or-bust one season effort. From what I've seen and...

No no, it's perfectly clear. If this was not the answer, then he wouldn't not like it. Obvious really. ;)

Moving back to Cov - advice please

Mount Nod always looks very nice and tidy when I pass through that way, as I often do having kids that go to school around there. Nod Rise, where there are number of very pleasant looking, low rise flats genuinely has the smoothest tarmac in Coventry - I'm always impressed when I cycle along...

    Wigan (H)

As good a post as I've ever read. I would be one of those who assumed that it was (the wrong sort of) Rugby that was your biggest issue - I stand corrected. Anyone who supports a 'smaller' team from their home town, when there are glory teams right on their doorstep is OK by me. Let's just...

    1st visit

It gets pretty rammed Andy, no guarantee that you and your mate will be able to find seats next to each other. ;) Joking aside, have a good day mate - and enjoy your 92 experience. I think you should do it in fancy dress, personally. A pantomime horse would probably be most appropriate for...

    Less like our home everyday....

Actually, that's not really the way it should work. When selling public assets the council has a statutory duty to obtain the most that it can for them. I think that most people would consider that the best way to do that would be to put them on the open market - or at least offer all...

    Less like our home everyday....

Actually there were a number of different options available to them in London, not least of which was developing a stadium in conjuction with Brentford. That's as close to Wasps original West London location as you'd like, but Wasps owner apparently saw Coventry as a better financial option...

Pipped me to it. Got to be scope for a prank call here... "I've got a load of Wasps I need you to get rid of... My address? Yes, it's the Ricoh Arena, CV... " :)

    Less like our home everyday....

It was never tested because the council at the very point they were saying they wanted to wait and build trust before talking about ownership with CCFC, had secretly done a deal with Wasps. That's not a theory, that's a fact.

    Less like our home everyday....

I'm well aware of that - although it's much the same as people saying they'll never support SISU going to games too. Are you supporting SISU by going to home games, Bazza? Presumably you are - and I am too. I'm aware that some of my money ends up in Wasps' pockets by supporting the club...
