    realistic transfer targets ???

Jerome scored for Stoke yesterday. He's one of many in the thread who I think are way out of our reach. George Boyd is one I'd love, but would still cost a decent amount. His team-mate Lee Frecklington is another-both quality passing midfielders on reasonable wages. Although they cost, what...

    Jutkiewicz, shirt pulling.

Agree with the first two posts-I generally call for FK's half a dozen times a game that he should get but doesn't. He really is a handful and great with his back to goal. Like the Dele comparison, but he's better in the air than him. Wish he'd learn how to cross a bit better, though-he always...

    deegan injured??

I think Deegan stayed on the bench in his kit for the rest of the game watching, didn't get treatment, pretty sure it was just cramp.

    The pressure is on us

I think we struggle away as we lack pace, so are unable to play on the counter effectively. Yesterdays Sheff Special was maybe our first counter-attacking goal of the season, so maybe his move up front and Deegans enthusiasm at "pushing out" from defensive positions will give us more joy henceforth?

    Takeover News!!!!!!!

Agreed, but we've all been hurt in the past. It's understandable if we are somewhat reluctant to trust anyone again in case we get hurt again. But then, this now pretty much sums up my cynical attitude to many aspects of life, from politics and relationships to CCFC; guess I'm just a "Grumpy Old...

    Takeover News!!!!!!!

Agreed. Maybe Thorny told them at H.T. versus Bristol? :) It would also fit in well with Thorn talking about being "buzzing" after his first chat with the new chap. Maybe he isn't a SISU man?

Did Chris Cattlin let the cat out of the bag ?

Well, there was a squirrel on the pitch against Leicester, but I can't imagine that anyone was keeping it in a bag...hmm, maybe the janitor from Scrubs, perhaps.

Deegan to be our Roy Keane ?

He's a bit too much of a Raging Bull in a china shop to be skipper-that's a job Keogh is doing quite brilliantly anyway. But yes, I get the Keane comparison-when he was ripping up the Irish League with Bohemians, he was after all hailed as the next Roy Keane. I'd say he's a bit more attacking...

SISU more or less gone apparently ?

Sounds too good to be true, but even thinking about the possibility is making me feel giddy with glee :)

    RATINGS FOLKS v Brighton

Murphy-8. Some very good saves, much better handling, a couple of nice throws and a wise and powerful punch. His third best performance after Leeds/Bristol. Christie-6. Defensively struggled but was up against Brighton's strongest threat, and we kept a clean sheet. Needs to be more aware of...

    Mc Sheffrey Goal

This is good, I knew I wasn't the only fan who expected it to end up in row z or Sheff getting tackled first!

Sour grapes; I really don't think an objective observer could have described us as poor today. David Bell was poor, sure, but I struggle to think of another City player who had a bad game and it was a coherent and attractive team performance.

Yes, that was also very irritating. And the amount of shirt-tugging and body-holding Juke put up with was even worse than usual. Oh, and he failed to apply the advantage rule properly as well.

    Ranson

I'd take that, but I'm a bit surprised that: a) They are that bothered about the protest; the feeling I got was that it was petering out a tad... b) Hoff and co. are prepared to pay 12m up front. I would have thought we are worth a lot less than that. 5M tops?

    Brighton match

Ha, I thought he meant "bit outclassed", ta for the correction!

    Post match thoughts.

We've had some shockers, but today's was the most inept ref of the season. He didn't have a scooby. Constantly shrugging and saying "I dunno." Highlight was after a knock, he forgot that it was a throw-in to us, and seemed poised to award a drop-ball, until the screams of "IT'S A THROW! YOU...

Craig Noone? That's usually because every time he touched the ball, we kicked the crap out of him! Until eventually he went of injured. He's their best player after Mack-Smith. Good old Deegan, best hatchet man we've had in a long time :)

    Brighton match

Thomas outclassed?!? I've been harsh on the kid before, but I thought he absolutely ran the show today. He's improved so much of late, and confidence has given him the composure to show just how talented he is. His technique is superb, and his energy levels fantastic. I wonder if Liverpool are...

    1-0 city!

Agreed. I'd been banging on pre-game about him being crap on crosses, and my mate brilliantly said "no, too close to the keeper" for the cross for the 2nd goal :)

They weren't the 2 chaps that were caught on camera with Joe and The Hoff at The Varsity in August were they?
