Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Luton were the better team but we took it pretty much as far as we could go. Stayed and cheered them to the rafters

If we beat Luton will it be better than winning the FA Cup

Couldn’t agree more. Along with the fact that playing at Wembley was such a massive thing for players and supporters. No one ever played down the park as a kid and pretended to score the goal that won the league

If we beat Luton will it be better than winning the FA Cup

Can’t agree these days. Though in 1987 I would have taken relegation if we won the cup in exchange

If we beat Luton will it be better than winning the FA Cup

To be fair the question is would it better so I don’t think there is a fair answer

If we beat Luton will it be better than winning the FA Cup

And to be fair any younger forum members are viewing the FA cup as it is now which is a shadow of the national institution that it was. I maintain though it’s biggest game we’ve played. As an experience though for us who have seen both it’s impossible to compare the 2

If we beat Luton will it be better than winning the FA Cup

Apples and pears. 36 years ago was a different world both football wise and socially. Probably more important for the club on Saturday but as an occasion, impossible to compare. Winning an FA cup was probably the pinnacle of a players career then but far from it now

Extra time can do one. 90 mins is long enough to be stressed

    Less than 48hrs to go

Might sound weird. I can visualise us beating Luton in a game of football but can’t visualise us celebrating promotion. Explain that nonsense?

However we win I’ll still be shaving my hands and putting some nail varnish on. Maybe even buy a new flannel

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Will be an element of that for sure but sensible planning should still make the most of it

Thread for those looking for final tickets

To a degree but I don’t think that includes people who already support another club and are just on the piss

Thread for those looking for final tickets

So many people going that I know of who don’t support us. Just going for the day out because they know a ST holder. Spend most of the time taking the piss out of us and support Liverpool, Spurs etc

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

If we don’t make it there is a consolation. Forest even with staying up have only won 9 games all season. Might soon get fed up with that 😀

I don’t think it will be a close game. Battle of 2 footballing styles. Whichever style wins I believe will win comfortably. Who that is god knows
