Burge 4 reasonable shot stopper but kicking and the total lack of reliability hinders his game. In turn, the defenders in front of him have to play their game differently which harms their performance. We need a calm, older keeper next year and a talented rookie on the bench. Mason 5. Went...

    Local Elections

I’ll probably get shot down here but this might be a longer term strategy. Tribalism exists in politics and it seems that Labour has a tight grip on Coventry Council. Should the Conservatives take control then they would enjoy the opportunity to blame the entire Ricoh debacle on Labour and...

Well we will be playing all of our games away from home next season. Might be a good thing. (Takes cover)

I said before that SISU missed an opportunity to buy Cov Rugby. They could have got around lots of council issues, developed the Butts, shared resources (physios, Training facilities, admin. Staff) and at the same time damaged Wasps if CRC became successful. Huge potential.

Soton & Leicester stadium cost approx £50m (adjusted infl.) The key isn’t the cost of borrowing (which could be a say, 2m / year) v rent savings / F&B / parking / sub rent to other nearby businesses / conferences / if they incorporate a public swimming baths etc.) it’s also how they can show...

    new statement

The RICOH when built acted as a magnet for other commercial enterprises. Having ‘000s of extra footfall in an area adds value to the land. Build a stadium, the area around it becomes saleable at a premium. Build a rival stadium, devalue the RICOH. SISU need to balance their books. They...

    new statement

As I said yesterday, the Court Case is about strategy & pressure on the individuals involved, not necessarily the legal position. Litigation often results in both opponents arguments being reduced to rubble and a judge coming down somewhere in the middle to reflect this. Councillors &...

    Groundshare back on

I’ve read that as being the criteria for new members, which we are not. We as a long-standing member need to be at 5k/2k at the start of the season. To be fair, the wording isn’t 100% clear.

    Groundshare back on

Having nerdily re-read the EFL ground criteria, I think CCFC have to have a ground with 2000 seats & a 5000 overall capacity. This rules out Nuneaton & Hinckley. Rugby is possible with a bit of adjustment, the Butts. With a temporary stand.

I don’t post here often but often observe. With regards SISU there seems to be an amount of bile directed at those seen as apologists. It does (I assume) put people off posting a different view for fear of being attacked

    This mornings Sunday Mail

I’ve been involved in high court cases (bigger than this) and strategy is often more key than legal position. The onion in such cases is looking at “who is driving” the litigation. Sometimes, the way individual driving the case (the client) may change & the desire to settle / fight may change...

Sisu’s “investors” might not even know that some of their funds are tied in to CCFC, it may well be that their investments are part of a batch of spread risk. While ever the investment funds are shown as “live” and “performing” (creating a return via notional interest) then SISU don’t have a...

    The goal keeping situation

1st choice keeper at higher league club? - no chance. 2nd choice keeper in Prem? - no chance. 2nd choice at lower champ? Possibly. 3rd / (or even 4th at top Prem club) choice - possible on loan. Champ 3rd? Yes. Scottish keeper? Worth a look. Wages up there are so much lower than here. My...

On a lighter note, looks like that Chelsea lad, Kepa Arrizabalaga might find himself “sent to Coventry” after yesterday. (I’ll get my coat)

    The goal keeping situation

Copied from article, 3rd choice Prem Goalkeepers: “Fraser Forster, Joe Hart, Michel Vorm, Fabri, Claudio Bravo and Rob Elliot are just a few names that spring to mind” Ok - so unlikely we’d be able to afford them on a perm, but offering to pay a chunk of their wages for a longish loan might...

    The goal keeping situation

Burge’s Confidence is shot. In turn, the confidence that his defenders have in him is reduced. This is reflected in the decisions they make when they have the ball near their own goal. Rather than risk a pass back so that Burge can move it out wide, for example; the defenders often play a...

    The invisible club

They have £30-£70m invested (depending on who you believe). Whilst ever they can take annual payments out of the club for “management fees” they can leave their “investment” parked. If the club is liquidated or sold cheaply, the balance will have to be written off. The Hedge Fund won’t allow...
