I always thought similar with Strachan, in that his players were motivated and galvanised because of the respect they had for him as a player (still the best player on the pitch at nearly 40). And as new, younger and often foreign players were signed, they saw him just as a shouty ginger man...

And you can sense that desperation in the players too as their decision making is getting worse and worse. Eccles shooting (and getting injured 🙄) when he should have passed to Rudoni and of course Simms at the end. They weren't the only poor decisions either. Folk can't pin it all on Robins.
