    Championship 22-23

Given that the Blues let us use their stadium and Robins stated that they’d been “class” about the whole thing, I think we owe them a bit of respect and gratitude. I’ve just been reading about this Bassani guy - I’d heard of him in passing but didn’t know the detail. It all makes totally...

    O'Hare bids

I don’t think reality has set in to a lot of clubs. So many are servicing debt of tens and tens of millions at currently low interest. Just wait until interest rates rise and those debts become very expensive in a backdrop of squeezed revenues as the recession hits. If nothing else, SISU...

He’s had a bad run of injuries. Only Mystic Meg could have truly known that he was going to get an Achilles injury. There was also a chance he wouldn’t and could have gone on to have a decent season somewhere. In any case, it’s a shame for the lad. It’ll be hard for him to come back from this...

    Incoming - Tom Costello

Checked earlier, something on Twitter said he had and Insta link said “Striker…something something….Huddersfield B” Can’t find now. Who knows. Might be wrong. Not the first time. Bosma. Correct, odd signing but if you don’t gamble you stay as you are.

    Incoming - Tom Costello

I like building up the u23’s with players we could assess and loan out / develop / bring into first team. I got dogs abuse from the usual eye rollers on here when I dare suggest signing a 21 year old local “basketball player” to bring in and develop. As it happens, he signed for a...

Any think it's very unprofessional? Leak in the camp

There are a huge number of potential people who will have some inside knowledge. Management & coaches down to the youth coaches. Office staff, finance staff, kitmen, etc. Players, their other halves, their agents will all have some inside knowledge. With such a huge number of people...

    Ex Player Watch

Quality, injury free, established young players aren’t going to come cheap. We are in the position where we have to take a gamble. Stewart Robson and even Dion Dublin came with injury records, Walsh would be a gamble, but if his injuries are behind him he’s a good squad player.

To be fair, it was a decent punt. Bright is / was / has huge talent that should / could have made a big impact. Robins took a gamble that could / should have have paid off. A clean / sober / focused Bright is a Prem quality player worth goals / points / money.

I know it’s been done to death, but is James Collins on a low basic plus apps plus goals bonus worth a punt to cover Vik?

    Transfer Shouts

I think SISU play the wrong hand sometimes: “We are a hedge fund with access to plenty of money but we choose to run a sensible model; we don’t need to sell anyone. If you want to trade, bring your big cheque”. Is a better strategy to Boddy saying: “we are plotless, £5m gets you any player”.

Sheaf more valuable than Hamer? Ok, let’s see if someone bids £10m for Sheaf - much rather sell him than Gus. Just for the record, Sheaf has improved this season and is a decent player. Gus has that X-Factor and is less easy to replace.

Tim Fisher interview in The Athletic

The route of it all was Ranson and his “model”. SISU didn’t understand the Bosman rule. The rest is history

If we had McC lined up then it makes sense that we didn’t pull out extra stops to sign JCS.

Not if they sell him back to us in exchange for not paying any outstanding instalments. Sell to anyone else and they will.

If he actually plays for them. Milestone add ons. Who knows what the contract says?Might be appearances for other clubs on loan. No doubt a sell on fee like Maddison. I’m guessing, with some logic, a similar transfer contract to Maddison.

Have Norwich paid his fee in full? Perhaps there are add on liabilities to us? If he is sold on we get a percentage anyway? Maybe a sell back negates those liabilities. Might be something in it I suppose.

    JCS

I think we’ve missed out. His signing on fee would I guess have been less than a transfer fee for an equivalent player. Plus, his age meant he would have immediate transfer value on the books. Plus, the hours of time he’s spent getting in sync with our system and teammates should never be...

    Just a quick question.......

Then they’d have some maths to do: Rent cost elsewhere, loss of some fan base (they’ve built a bit up locally, that can’t be denied). Not sure they’d just buzz off.

    Just a quick question.......

It wasn’t a problem. SISU thought they were being clever by distressing the bank and Council and it backfired. Now they pay rent. Different circus, different monkeys.
