    David Speedie's New Book

I’ve got the book. Just reading it. Settling a few scores against people who he perceived wronged him by skating them in this book. Most interesting so far is the Gary Bennett story (Sunderland- where Bennett Sr grabbed Speedie round the throat) Apparently Killer (Brian Kilcline to our...

Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 4th Oct

Wright should have gone down there. He was clipped and the ref has already shy’d a penalty shout. It would have been given.

    Millwall Player Ratings

Rushworth 8 Clean sheet, decent saves, good positioning, good distribution. MVE 8 2 assists. Even switched wings to take a throw. Did get beaten a couple of times by his mark but overall good show. Links well with KKH which might be an interesting development. Kitching 7 Good Thomas 7...

Maybe a straight red? Was he last man? Clear opportunity? Not that it matters but if that were play offs and VAR…..

When KKH is on the pitch I’m surprised we didn’t switch things and have MVE come to the other side to take long throws on occasion. Just for that play when it’s needed. Other than that, do we have a right side player who can chuck a ball?

Let in 4. That wouldn’t have done his confidence much good. Trying to think of any keepers that were howling here before doing ok on loan. Dimi K.? I know he did quite well after going.

    Chris Davies

He’s making some huge mistakes with this: Blames officials (His cards will be marked now) Blames his players for soft goals (they won’t respect that)

If it were a VAR decision it’s given I think (if Torp hasn’t knocked it in) Ref without VAR - not so sure to be fair. Also, ball over the line without technology? Ref / Lino might not give it. Just saying

If Torp had not knocked that last goal in, Simms should have had a pen there I reckon.

Off topic but I like the way Frank is quiet about player availability to opposing teams. Fine margins make a difference and this way opponents aren’t quite able to fully prepare.

    Aled Williams & John Dempster

Maybe an outdated opinion: Other than saying that “he was a talented goalkeeper in his day” on his own LinkedIn profile, I can’t find who Aled Williams actually played for. Coaching badges are one thing, but is that enough without top level actual experience? Players often enjoy / benefit...

    Doug King Q and A

I know it was before Doug’s time, but they did do us a favour by letting us use their ground. They could have said “no” and made it difficult for us (where was next on the list? Walsall? Burton? Villa (!!!)? Rugby?). Robins had always said that Birmingham had been “class” in how they treated...

44, blimey, not much younger than Lampard. (….has fleeting thought about if Lampard could do 20 mins off the bench since we haven’t replaced Sheaf…) (Note *satire)
