Advice Please: Summer Jobs for Student?

Worthwhile trying the ‘blue chip’ types with stores all over the place. If your daughter were to go to university then there may be the option to move work to wherever she ended up as well. So yeah, McD’s, KFC, Tesco, etc. all worth trying.

    Wasps downward spiral...

2 thoughts: 1. Is this to plug a gap as one of the lenders has pulled out? 2. Are they looking for funding support to help with the structural integrity of the arena? More likely to be point 2 thinking about it, and given it is ultimately a council-owned asset they may get the help they’re...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don’t disagree. Yesterday in PMQs the Prime Minister accused Labour of “being on the side of people traffickers”. That’s where they want to take this. My own personal opinion, you’ve got to come out swinging when shit like that is said. Same as when Patel said they’re on the side of rapists...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Trying to create a narrative. It goes back to what D’OD said earlier, all they’re looking to do with all of this is start culture wars. It’s why Starmer’s spokesperson didn’t comment on the Rwanda situation - he says he’s against it and it’ll be spun into “they’re the party that want...

    Any Excel Nerds?

Solved it anyway, spent about 3 hours teaching myself VLOOKUP. Yeah, the plan was to always structure it like you say, just split the place pot evenly but it also depends on the stake that has been bet. Obviously the higher the stake the greater share of the pot you get.

    Any Excel Nerds?

Generally good on MS Excel but encountered an issue and can’t seem to find a solution. I’m setting up a spreadsheet to work as a race night bookmaker. Managed to formulate the win pot fairly easily but we’re running an each way pot as well. The win pot can just be calculated as the stake made...

    JCS

I’ll be honest, if Moore left I wouldn’t be overly fussed. Started really well, then seemed to tail off to a kind of mid-table keeper. Not saying that’s a bad thing and appreciate that’s where we are at the moment, but if we brought in a better keeper to push on then fine by me.

    Transfer Shouts

Different conversation entirely! Not that I don’t like the players mentioned, but it baffles me some of the contracts we’re handing out.

    Transfer Shouts

Cut it down to 50% then. Still results in £4.6m (or £90k per week) extra on the wage budget at the peak. Again, appreciate there’s other elements such as signing on bonuses, possible transfer fees, contract extensions, etc. Though you’d hope that the only contract extensions would be for those...

    JCS

Some of the revisionism around JCS is interesting. For me, he was a very good player and was key to making our system work. Granted, he had a stinker at Luton but so did many others. It’s disappointing that we haven’t managed to sign him although I do understand the concern around injuries. If...

    Transfer Shouts

And on a base level I’d agree *if* we were speculatively increasing the wage bill on potential future transfer fees. What I’m suggesting is the reverse of that - using fees received as a means to fund future wages. I’ll hypothesise this quickly (and I’ll use round numbers to make it easier to...
