    Peter Billing

Well, I’ve been telling the wrong story for a while then! Ah well. I remember Billing playing out on the wing one game. He wasn’t a winger.

    Motd goalkeepers

Im really enjoying the current motd format and I think all three have come across well. Like you say, Wright has been self-deprecating but also insightful. Which I hadn’t really expected. He can also be funny. I certainly don’t agree with some of the things he says all the time and he’s not...

    87 cup final thread

If I remember rightly the bbc cut to st. Mirren fans going wild as the team did a lap of honour. Didn’t Jimmy Hill give a personal congratulations to the team as well? Lovely stuff!

    Greatest Escape

I was a student, living in Tottenham at the time of this game. I’m ashamed to say, I got very, very drunk.

    Charity Shield highlights

I credit myself with our relative success at Wembley. I’ve missed out on all of our wins there - my dad couldn’t get tickets (cup final), I had ticket but also had sciatica (fuck me it hurt) - checkatrade final, had a pre-booked holiday to croatia (playoff final - watched in a bar on my own -...

    Childhood memories of CCFC

That’s fantastic! I’m also impressed that the EB remained in the school library. As a former Finham Park pupil clearly not all of the rumours we heard about Ullathorne were true!

    Childhood memories of CCFC

Love those pics. Can you imagine fans being allowed to do any of the now?! I’ve got photo blown up and framed from the Portsmouth Evening News, of a Pompey crowd in the early 50s. Bang smack in the middle, as clear anything, are my grandad, great grandad, and great uncle. Most people are...

That might have been my first game! Brian Stein winner?

    Les Sealey

All slightly before my time. When he came back on loan I remember him misplacing a kick to an opposition player (who were we playing?) and saving the resulting one-on-one...much to his obvious relief. I think he may have raised his arms aloft to the crowd and received a bit of an ironic cheer...

    Les Sealey

I loved the game he came back on loan for us. He played the role of pantomime villain to perfection.

    Two Tone Kit Problems

Ok. I’ll remember that. Where do you stand on putting trainers in the wash? I’ve been told that if I do so I should put them in a pillow case first? Also, should I leave my wife?

    Two Tone Kit Problems

Some sound laundry advice there. Now here’s a question for you, if you put it in the wash would you wash it with your whites?

Yeah, I’ve got a lot of clothes I’m very disappointed with.

    RIP Norman Hunter

I like at the end, when he blew-up, he gave a bit of a snort as if to say “right, bring it on”! I thought the commentary was wrong. To me it seemed like Leeds didn’t have “every right to feel aggrieved”...play to the whistle! Rule number. (In fairness he does acknowledge this also).

    RIP Norman Hunter

He was never offside! Although I’m not sure the bloke who scored wasn’t when the pass was made to him. The ‘gentleman hooligan’...gentlegan? Hooliman? Hooligent?...looked quite old for a pitch invader too. Although, even the players all looked about 55 back then!

    Oh yeah. I remember him...Southampton.
