    We NEED to appeal that.

Exactly my argument. Just use it for the clear and obvious, so stuff the officials have very clearly missed and everyone will be happy and VAR would work just fine.

    We NEED to appeal that.

If that's their best, they need to give up their day jobs. 🤪

Are Hull depleted? I didn't know that.

When is offside not offside ? (not more Semi-final debate)

I thought the same. I always thought you COULD be offside from a goal kick. 🤷

    Fábio Tavares

I did feel he just wasn't good enough, but I would now be quite happy for him to still be here next season. See if he can kick on further, because he really has surprised us all lately hasn't he. I am more than happy to eat humble pie over him if he carries on like this

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Wednesday 24th Apr

I think it's all but certain defeat unfortunately. The players must be exhausted and we simply don't have the backups to come in from the squad. If everyone was fresh, I would fancy our chances, but I think we will now lose. So many seemed dead on their feet I think Palmer has to come in...

    VAR needs an overhaul

Would anyone look at that footage yesterday in the VAR booth and say immediately "Well, that's an clear and obvious error?" No is that answer. Because no-one actually could. They had to analyse it and go looking for it in depth and if they had to go looking for it, it's not a clear and...

    The game has gone

Well, yeah, that does look very much in our favour. It is the wrong angle though unfortunately.

    VAR needs an overhaul

Now THAT, IS a clear and obvious error.
  11. Otis

    We NEED to appeal that.

Yeah. An appeal is pointless I feel. We can complain though. I think the authorities do need to be aware of any grievance. Zero chance of a replay of the game though

    VAR needs an overhaul

Oooh, don't keep us on tenterhooks

    VAR needs an overhaul

That decision yesterday was pretty obvious. No-one thought it was offside on first viewing. VAR should be used for things officials have missed. Clear and obvious errors. There was clearly no obvious error there. I get what you are saying and some are more difficult to judge, but on first...

    VAR needs an overhaul

I get what you are saying, but let me put this to you. Did anyone, anyone at all, upon seeing that yesterday, believe that was obviously offside? Fans, managers, pundits? The answer is no-one did, so there can be a general rule of thumb applied. Obviously some instances will be clearer than...

    VAR needs an overhaul

Exactly. We can all judge clear and obvious surely. If you can't immediately see it with the naked eye, it's not obvious.

    VAR needs an overhaul

But common sense tells you, you can look at an image and see that two objects are close to each other and would need a much longer and closer look to see which is ahead of which. It's very simple really. Give them 10, 15, 20 seconds to look at it, max . Instantly yesterday, you could see that...

    VAR needs an overhaul

I disagree. If it needs a line drawn to see if someone is offside, then simply don't draw the line and go with the referee's decision. It's not rocket science and I don't think they will now ever get rid of it. I think it's here to stay, so it needs modifying and overhauling. Stop drawing...

    VAR needs an overhaul

    Didn't spot that.

    VAR needs an overhaul

Completely with you. Don't scrap it. Just ditch the microscope, slide rule stuff. They should have taken one look at that yesterday and said that's too close to call and there is no obvious error. Use it for stuff like ...... was the tackle made inside or outside the penalty area, for pens...
  20. Otis

    We NEED to appeal that.

Not sure they can. There would be an absolute outpouring of anger from managers saying the officials have made horrendous mistakes and made glaring errors and missed stuff. You can't win really. Just need to stop the nonsense VAR decision making and use it properly, because at the moment...
