We'd done well enough without spending money on that level. Hamer, Sheaf, O'hare, Gyokeres etc. Don't get me wrong I'm delighted that we can spend big money (by our standards) but it's a hell of a lot for a kid who's only been tested In league 1.

I'd be happy with Connolly, decent CH, but can play anywhere across the back and central midfield. At the very least he'd be a great player to have on the bench. Far more versatile than Rose was.
