    General Election 2019 thread

Fine, I wasn't declaring my position on them either way, just referencing the BL movement and how, historically, Labour was very much in favour of them because they saw them as doing the exact opposite of what you state. I'm increasingly trying to step out of the echo-chamber, and this...

    General Election 2019 thread

One of the interesting things to come out of the election fall-out is the rise of Blue Labour, a movement calling for a return to the Labour Party pre 1960, the party of Attlee, a party that was conservative, pro grammar schools and patriotic. Peter Hitchens covers it here: PETER HITCHENS: Don't...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

Maybe. But at Tranmere, we were a goal up and he gambled to try to kill the game off by bringing O'Hare and Baka on. It worked. Today, he made a similar move and O'Hare created two great chances and they were missed. Score one of those and we're praising the changes. Very easy to be wise after...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

The attempt to somehow pin today's result on Max is just a nonsense and stinks of someone desperate to be proved right. Our best two chances of the game came just after changes were made. By all means criticise him for the missed chance (although it was a good save) but you have to level the...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

True. A couple of teams will do that though. Rotherham look strong, and maybe Ipswich have got over their wobble. Could be us, not ruling it out, but I'd be surprised, we're not free scoring enough. Top 6 should be fine though.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

This season is very open. After 24 games last season the top 2 were 9/10 points better off than we are now. In any other season we'd be way off the auto spots. You do feel that to make the top two we're going to have to go on a long winning run at some point, but the evidence so far suggests we...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. MK Dons Match Thread - Saturday 11th Jan

Very poor today. As soon as we missed those two chances in the 2nd half the writing was on the wall. Most disappointing was the fact that they scored with 15 minutes to go but we didn't trouble them once after that. Can't argue with the result today. 3 games against MK this season, two draws and...

    Coventry City of Culture 2021

There is some of that which I won't argue with, but what I am saying was that there is significant progress. It isn't just about Cathedral Lanes. Three new eateries are opening at the Co-op in the next few weeks, a new restaurant on Spon St, Belgrade Plaza is now fully let, the units at the base...

    Developments underway/starting in 2020:

    Coventry City of Culture 2021

Completely correct. The city centre is far more vibrant than it was 10/20 years ago - both during the day and at night. There is no comparison really. The built environment is improving, there are new leisure facilities opening all the time, new eateries, bars etc. Retail is still...

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

I doubt they'll pack the place out, but it was the draw many of them wanted and they seem genuinely chuffed with it.

It's every 4 years, and I remember Hull getting a load of exposure and investment off the back of it. It's hardly the Olympics, but it's a good thing to have won and I think it will be good for the city.

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

But the boss is a Blues fan and kicking out your own fans for a few quid extra wouldn't go down well. Much as I like the place, I think it should be Blues only that day if we play them. It's their boozer.

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

Tbf, their fans seem delighted by it. There's a novelty factor for sure. Far worse draws we could have got financially - QPR, Millwall, Reading at home for example, far smaller crowd and no easier to progress.

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

Surprised, I though Roost would revert to Blues only:

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

People getting in a tiz over nothing. They'll be enough tickets for both clubs. Blues fans are suggesting it was agreed that they get Kop Stand and Tilton, we have away stand and main stand if needed. Makes sense.

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

Possibly, but we've had up to 6K for league games. I think the novelty of playing at home against Birmingham in their home might bring a few out. Besides, when we played them in the FA Cup a few years back, I recall there were only 7-8K Blues fans in the ground, so I doubt they'd pack the place...

4th Round Draw - Who d'ya fancy? (should we make it)

But that's 5K. We'd potentially take somewhat more than that so why limit the number of our own supporters at what would technically be a home game?Probably make sense to give us the main stand also.
