    good news rolling in!

So what we're losing an average championship defender who happened to stand out in our team. We were always going to lose Keogh and it's how we've responded, which has left a feeling of optimism and excitement!

Keogh, I just don't get it...

Are you honestly confused, because statement's like that are standard practice in football these days. More to the point Keogh and Cranie were a CB partnership that ultimately got us relegated. I'm a fan of Keogh don't get me wrong, he wears his heart on his sleeve, throws himself into...

Okay fair enough, perhaps my comment about McSheffrey being vocal is a little emphatic. However I base my opinions on Kilbane on the precedent set by other players in the professional game. At 35 there have been very very few players that have been able to play 40+ games. Even Ryan Giggs who is...

    Connor Thomas

KK was noted as being very fit by Thorn in a press release, surprising that he would say such a thing to the fans when we sign a 35 year old on a free...However I doubt he is super human and 40 games plus of league football would be an extraordinary feat for 35 year old. As for McSheffrey...

    Connor Thomas

Well when I watched against Hinckley, McSheffrey was very vocal and encouraging towards the younger players. My main point is that he represents the fans (as he is one himself) and this can be recognised on the pitch. Overall the way I see it we have 3 stand out candidates; Sheffers, Kilbane...

Why not McSheffrey, experienced, vocal, and most importantly cares about the club? He'd certainly be my choice! Kilbane shouldn't get it, bloke only played 10 games in the whole of last season, won't have the legs to play 40+ games.

Do we have a better squad than last year?

Don't think this question can be answered. The new signings could be better than what we had before, e.g. Fleck could set the division alight, Edjenguele could prove to be better than both Cranie and Keogh. You catch my drift. The only variable that is certain is that the younger players in...

We don't need a 'target man'.

I don't think a target man is necessarily what Thorn is after, and I quite agree that we may not need it. However what we don't have is forward with the ability to hold the ball up. I would say it was more strength and composure we are after than height and aerial ability.

William Edjenguele on a three-year contract

Ah yeah my bad. Well not so perfect then, but still very happy!

William Edjenguele on a three-year contract

Good signing, we now have a perfect back four in my eyes. Clarke.....Wood....Edjenguele....Hussey Two attacking full backs, one right footed, one left. Two dominant, strong, solid centre backs, again one right footed, one left. Not put Malaga in because I believe it will take him longer to...

Newcastle fans raving on about Bigi!

Obviously getting relegated is never a good situation, especially financially, but it is what has happened to a lot of clubs as big and bigger than ourselves in the last few years, much of it due to financial constraints. I'm of the opinion that the club and Thorn were half preparing for...

    Midfield

Think Roberts could feature this season, all depends on his pre-season but I liked the look of him. Garner did excellently as well, certainly has the potential to make an impact on League 1.

    keogh gone to scotland?

How do you know they have plenty of money? Surely if they had plenty of money they would be in a position to buy half of the stadium and start to run the club sustainably, which is the most obvious course of action.

Newcastle fans raving on about Bigi!

Agree, having less responsibility will massively aid his game as it will give him the platform to concentrate on his game. However to suggest SISU did not understand that a blend of youth and experience was required is a bit short-sighted, I'm sure they were well aware our squad was not good...

    keogh gone to scotland?

The financial problems at this club were here long before SISU came, right now I'm glad we're surviving and building a half decent squad. Whatever your opinion on SISU, they have to balance the books within the means of the business, and right now we have to sell our assets to stay in business...

Newcastle fans raving on about Bigi!

Well it's a different situation because he's a young lad, who happens to be very likeable, and has come through our Academy and lived in the City since he was kid. Additionally I think during pre-season where there is not a lot else going on, TWO THREADS hardly seems excessive.
