Nope, I was told I was incorrect on a previous post, and I'm just proving that what I said was not incorrect (That Poyet was heavily influential in Leeds' success and when he left for Spurs their good form and season gradually fell apart). I also said Boothroyd and Coleman were each successful...

Grendel, when someone points out your argument is flawed, do you just try and protect your ego by ignoring it?

sacking AT is a terrible decision

There's actually been a lot of criticism of the sacking, I for one think it's an unfair decision.

Players been given a team talk by SISU representative

The bonus' in football are ridiculous. I've got a mate who plays professionally, and if you make the match day squad it's like a £500 bonus immediately, another grand if you start and if you come off the bench another £500.

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

Apologies for the dyphemism, just aided my compelling argument..

Yeah they are impressive statistics. However I feel at Leeds this was largely due to Poyet, this is certainly the general consensus amongst Leeds fans, and you'll be surprised to hear that I might be correct. You say Poyet left Leeds in late October..and until then Leeds had won every game bar...

Yeah you could say that, but you could also say that when Clough took over at Leeds they were English Champions, not in League 1.

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

Well we were favourites for relegation with bookmakers before the season started. This after having the core of our team ripped out (Westwood, Turner, Gunnarsson and King) We had 5 teenagers regularly in the side and more on the bench. In January we sold our only player that could score (which...

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

It doesn't throw my train of thought. A very plausible explanation is that we lost our 4 best players in his first summer in charge, and were favourites for relegation with the bookies before a ball was kicked. Consequently less people renewed their season tickets. As we had a much weaker...

Coleman did a good job at Fulham, Boothroyd did a better job at Watford than Wise did with Millwall. Can't draw assumptions from his spell at Millwall, Poyet was the man at Leeds, when he left for Spurs they fell apart. I'd be gutted if Wise got the job.

CET: On thorn sacking, Thorn Speaks

Yeah I have a feeling this could also be true. Hard bloke though, part of the Wimbledon, 'Crazy Gang'. Although the plenty of successful managers have come to blows with players, SAF, Tony Pulis and Di Canio but to name a few!

CET: On thorn sacking, Thorn Speaks

No one is talking about him like that, all people are saying is that when judging Thorn you must consider the external variables that plagued his managerial time at City. Therefore the support came for Thorn because the majority of the fans could understand he had a huge task to keep us up last...

Are you a Coventry fan or did Thorn sleep with your wife? I'm starting to wonder..

We slid down the table because we played predictable football, the exact same thing happened at Colchester when Boothroyd was there, top 6 in January but bottom half come the end of the season.

Why is there an air of smug satisfaction on this forum tonight ?

I don't think anyone has said they're remotely upset by other fans taking the piss, it just highlights the fact this is not a positive move for the club. 12 managers in 12 years does give other fans reason to have a laugh. As for the title to the thread, I think Martin has noticed that several...

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

This was Boothroyd who had King, Westwood, Turner and Gunnarsson at his disposal. Eventually of course we dropped like a stone down the league table.

Why is there an air of smug satisfaction on this forum tonight ?

Well what you're saying is all well and good, but for large parts of last season we were operating with two 18 year olds and one 17 year old in the starting line up. Are they as physically fit as a 25 year old senior pro, absolutely not. This wasn't Thorn's fault, it was through having no...

    Feeling

Literally ridiculous, our squad wasn't competitive last season. Had Thorn kept us up, then I think it would've been the best Managerial achievement since we were relegated. Any manager would've struggled immensely to keep us up.Unfortunately he did not, but over the summer he has assembled an...
