There is a back entrance to Leeds station which is accessible from the bridge that goes over the platforms, out the back are a few bars in the railway arches and another one across the canal lock. Also some more nice old pubs along Water Lane.
Went to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin about 10 years ago. The bowl of the stadium is built entirely in natural stone, it's stunning. Can't say much about the powers that built it.

Everything in this country is about short term profit / value. We've orientated the whole economy around the city of London and it demands such thinking imo. Investors must be guaranteed returns and guaranteed them quickly.
Reading between the lines John Taylor has made the call. I assume that they've had to do it properly given his length of service so they'll have had to demonstrate his lack of capability which takes time.
It looks / feels from the outside that he was basically in his role due to longevity over anything else, and probably willing to accept wages significantly lower than you'd get elsewhere.
