We could of brought Simms off for Eccles or Palmer, I thought he was totally ineffective tonight. But on a plus point I thought Wright is continuing to improve and took his goal well.

Agree with most of that, but thought Simms looked poor. Good to see Wright get on the score sheet, after giving him some stick on here I have to say he's improved since the last international break.

There's always an argument for not changing a winning team, but that's a brave set up considering Southampton are a far far better team than Brum, and are in good form. I'd of started Eccles and dropped Simms to the bench, but at least it gives Simms and Wright a chance to show what they can...

Eccles for Simms. Well need the extra defensive midfielder against Saints. if we play Sakamoto, Allen and O'hare. And Simms was poor against Brum.

That might hit the nail on the head, as in Doug wants to see him put a string of performances together over 90 minutes before commiting to another high earner on £20+ grand a week. He may of had his fingers burnt with Wright and Simms and won't want to get burnt again if O'hare turns out to be...

I've supported him, but (imo) he's not at this level, and we paid way OTT for him, which isn't his fault of course, its our recruitment thats at fault. but we need better than him and Godden and Simms if we want to progress. Being objective and pointing out our deficiencies up front...
