    Throwing the season away

Don't think it's as simple as you're making out. Portsmouth fans rallied around their club when they reached this league, but that was helped by losing the owners who had mismanaged them into League 2, and they had becoming fan owned. I'm not sure their support would have stuck with them in such...

    Attendance Prediction

Yes they must have done. It's a shame the take up on the freebies wasn't as good as expected, even given the poor performance they missed.

Match Thread Coventry City vs Accrington Stanley Match Thread - Saturday 10th Feb

JMD seems very lightweight. He doesn't seem particularly quick for a winger, or have the tricks to beat a full back. We seem to be badly missing Doyle's drive & leadership, with Bayliss not looking the same player in his absence. Kelly really needs to step up 2nd half & show he can cover Doyle's...

    Attendance Prediction

Fair enough. I thought the old club shop was just Wasps stuff. Where is it? Sorry - just seen Chiefdave's post about the exhibition centre. Also if the club are maximising this other revenue source then i would expect they will be making much more money from this game at these cheaper prices...

    Attendance Prediction

An issue on a day like this is that the cut backs the club have made in running costs mean we can't maximise revenue from having a club shop or merchandising outlet at the ground, that would otherwise make up for the lost revenue from reduced ticket prices. Another unknown is how many will be...

    Attendance Prediction

You are right to an extent but there are a couple of variables that could still affect the gate. It is conceivable that every 'available' ticket is sold and yet the attendance will still not be 30,000, while it is also unclear how many of the free ticket holders will actually show up.

    Stokes & Grimmers Injuries

Just wrote on another thread that this inadvertantly might force us into a system that might suit us playing both Kelly & Doyle in the middle as Robins so obviously prefers. If he plays 3 at the back (Willis/ Hyam/ McDonald) with wing backs (DKE/ Shipley or Haynes), he could play Doyle & Kelly...

Good points well put. I agree Kelly is a better footballer, but he doesn't strike me as a leader like Doyle, who even in his mid 30's still covers more ground & than most and makes life easier for the likes of Bayliss. That said this is such an attritional league that both will be needed to...

£5 tickets for Accrington - Community Day

Not living in Cov at the minute so I don't know if this is the case, but when I did & similar deals were on offer, I never thought they were publicised very well. I mentioned the Accrington deal to my son, who has only been to one game this season, so the type of supporter I guess this deal is...

Disagree on the Kelly v Doyle point. While I agree Doyle was pretty woeful yesterday, I think Doyle himself plays better when Kelly doesn't play. Having another holding midfield player alongside him just isn't necessary in League 2. It might be interesting to see how Kelly & Bayliss might do...

    Dion Dublin on MOTD

Who is they? Villa & Dublin's agent maybe, but he was still our player and badly advised not to play. It is water under the bridge now, though & I have long since forgiven him for not playing in the Luton match, or later on tapping up Boateng on Villa's behalf. He has a rightful place as one of...

I guess a fair few in that MK figure were Cov fans who had tickets for their part of the ground & in hospitality.

Poll: Time to back up your thoughts!

As we are now the play offs look most likely, but I'm not sure I would fancy us to get through them at our first attempt. However, if Robins were to bring in John Akinde & a decent keeper before the deadline, but without selling Willis or Bayliss etc, then I would strongly fancy us for automatic...

    Potential new signings

I see this being pushed on a few threads. Haven't seen him but his scoring record doesn't look over impressive.I see he hasn't scored for Hearts this season in 12 games. We already have Biamou!!

Anyone fearing a realistic bid for McNulty?

Without Willis, McDonald's lack of pace is far more likely to be exposed. We are fortunate to have some decent centre backs at the club who link well together, but losing Willis would have a more detrimental effect on the defence as a whole than any one of Davies, McDonald or Hyam.

Anyone fearing a realistic bid for McNulty?

He is doing well & is certainly better than any striker we had last season, but he is playing in League 2 and is not better than Armstrong, Wilson, Clarke, McGoldrick or King.

What important, or great goals have you missed over the years?

Agreed, I was also in that left hand corner and after Houchen made it 2-1 I was carried by the crowd, with my feet not touching the floor until after the final whistle.

James Maddison sell on clause? Bid from WEST HAM

On the issue of PL, I went to a football quiz where football before PL seemed not to exist. It really wound me up. Was also thinking after Cyrille died about the time he joined us, that if a similar player of his standing got transferred in the PL now, he would inevitably go to a top 6 club...
