Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

I thought it had been said that they don't need to retain the club to pursue legal action.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Listening to Hoffman on the radio when he spoke about the two failed bids, he certainly didn't give the impression that he was playing games. He came across very well and seemed to be very determined to carry on with a campaign that would eventually see Sisu sell. It did seem a genuine attempt...

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

A mid table finish next season would be by far the lowest league position in the club's history. There is no way that I would see that as a success. Like you I think that only promotion can be considered a success.

Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

. you would think that this is something that has to be given, otherwise he can make offer after offer and never come near their valuation. If you buy something, the starting point is surely knowing what the seller says they want. At least you can negotiate towards that figure.

How about Carl Baker and Gary Mcsheffrey as wingers ?

Same. I think Baker has still got something to offer. I think McSheffrey was a good player for us before but probably past it now..

Rumours of "Big News" Coming Today.....

Rumours always give a bit of hope. One day one will come to fruition and Sisu will be gone!

    That's true!

    Danny Newton - Tamworth

Just to point out that Ireland are a good few points above Wales in the World Cup qualifying group so at the moment they are not better than Ireland!

    Mowbray

Two players who along with Vincelot he brought in. Mowbray's only full season here was continually disrupted by injuries to centre halfs.

    Mowbray

Recruitment was poor with signings such as Wright seeming to be done as a last gasp attempt to bring in more bodies. Was this all down to TM or was it down to the way the club is run? Neither of us can say for certain. When Tony and then Tim publish their memoirs it will be interesting to see...

    Mowbray

I wouldn't particularly criticise Pressley either, although his football after the Sixfields season was some of the worst I have seen, (the Notts County defeat at home being an example). He was however, trying to cut the wage bill while also trying to maintain a decent team. I just wish he had...

Depends what you mean by threadbare. Moussa, Baker, Wilson, Clarke, Christie, Murphy, all of whom he inherited wouldn't be my idea of threadbare.

    Mowbray

My point was that you were championing a manager like Slade who played such an ugly (and losing ) form of football but make quite a sneery comment ("Lord Mowbray" and the comments on the bottom of the Daily Mail article) about someone who, despite his failure at the end, had some notable...

Arse Licking NOUN mass nounBritish vulgar slang The use of flattery or other obsequious behaviour in order to gain favour. ‘that minister got his job from arse-licking’ Why would anyone be biased? What favour is to be gained by the use of flattery. Is Mowbray giving out a tenner to everyone...

    Mowbray

Weren't you the chap who hailed Russell Slade as the Messiah? It can be said that in the end Mowbray failed here. He is in good company with another 7 or 8 managers who have all failed here. The one consistent factor is Sisu. When TM first took over, we were heading for the drop. Anyone who...

    ST sales

I think the day at Ryton idea would be good if it was extended to all season ticket holders, not just a prize draw. If this was spread over the season on selected days I think it would be an incentive. They could include other offers such as an open day at the Ricoh ( I realise they would have...

    League one/two released players 2017

I liked Moussa when he was here. Maybe Robins can get him playing again. However, I wasn't that impressed by his performance against us at Bescot this season. Did very little of note. This was only one game and if he could play in the way that he did in his first spell here he would certainly be...

My 26 years of being a Coventry City fan

Brian Clough as manager. Also Malcolm Alison although that was an escape seeing how badly he did away from Joe Mercer.

    16/17 post-mortem

Our finish was the lowest ever by a Coventry team in the third tier. That fact plus those mentioned by Jim Brown would suggest that it is.
