Match Thread ⚽️ Swansea City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 7th Apr

There is actually more or as much segregation here as you get at Stoke, Burnley, Norwich, Luton and Watford, and more than you get at most PL grounds.

Match Thread ⚽️ Swansea City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 7th Apr

What you see at Swansea is normal across all 4 divisions. We're very much the outlier. Of course, if you're going to have minimal segregation you do need to police it correctly.

Either that's a wind up or you don't watch a lot of football.

Awful by our high standards, but have seen quite a few complements from Swansea fans. Although it's rare that anyone fills the away end down there so numbers maybe helped. Thought their fans the noisiest I've seen this season, thought that last season too (apart from Boro perhaps). Goes to show...

    QPR away

Nothing in today's post either, and bought Monday at 10am. Guess they just paused on sending out as busy with today's game.

    Pub's now and then.

Get to Dhillons about 12 usually so have a few. Sometimes go back after. Back in the day would start in the elastic at 11am and end up in brewer and baker until about 2.55.

One of the away fans pages incorrectly as stated it was 4K when it was about 2300.

Sky Blues Tavern and the Anecdote

Yesterday was much busier than it has been recently, so wait times were unusually long. Most games you'll get served pretty quick.

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Mar

Fair result really. Just relieved we came away with something. I thought Hull were half decent. We're not going to make play offs, I don't think anyone really believes that, it too much to ask of this squad with O'Hare, Palmer, Sheaf and Allen out. That we're competing still and picking up...

    Hull crowd

Looking very healthy now, as it should be tbh, huge game this. Dhillons busy from midday. Sense a big walk up too.

Crowd looking decent, especially if block 27 also pretty full today with the community tickets. Decent walk up and should be biggest home turn out of the season.

    South Stand home end?

Oh, agree with that, they were excellent, but just the comments I have seen them make. The corners do have better acoustics though I think.

    Old Time Violence

I think last year RM took 800 to Barcelona. Distance is an issue of course, but Germany has an away day culture with big followings and some big distances. I think it's more cultural. They just don't travel in Spain. Playing games Sunday evening doesn't help. The other issue there is...

    South Stand home end?

Yeah, I recall it was part of a push to get fans behind both goals, but they wouldn't sell match tickets in there so it never took off.

    South Stand home end?

This is true. Since Middlesbrough fans moved from the corner to behind the goal they say it has had a negative affect on the atmosphere.

    South Stand home end?

I find it bizarre how we talk about fans mingling outside being this big head-scratcher that we have to find a solution for. As others have said, look at every other ground in the country. At HR the WT would exit around 20 yards away from the away fans exit. At the Ricoh, from 2005-2017...

    Old Time Violence

One of the very noticeable things when I lived out there was the lack of any sort of away fan culture. It's the thing I like most about the English game. We have teams in the 5th tier taking thousands away, but when I watched Mallorca you'd sometimes see only 10-15 away fans, even Barca it...

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Hull City Match Thread - Saturday 11th Mar

I don't think anyone is jumping on his back. It is a little surprising though in this day and age when it's all about marginal gains. I suspect Hull players would have all been in their hotel rooms on a 9pm curfew. That said, trust the guy, he has earned that like you say.

The big allocations are to come. Blackpool, QPR, Blackburn and Wigan, although the last two are midweek which is a bummer. We've only had one big allocation all season, and that was midweek at Preston.

    Fan Village?

There are still plenty of places to get a drink though. Dhillons is 200 yards, 3 bars at the complex itself and 5 or 6 more within 15 mins. It's a lot better than it used to be, and better than many grounds tbf.
