Match Thread Peterborough United vs Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 26th Oct

Yes O'Hare broke through and we were effectively 2 on 2. I was screaming at him to go for the goal but he drifted to the right looking like he was giving himself the opportunity to go for the corner flag, but in doing so taking away our opportunity to get a 3rd. Then from the edge of the penalty...

We would have actually been better off trying to score a 3rd. They were short at the back having sent their big centre back up front, but we played for the corners and got dispossessed allowing them to then break and score.

The ref indicated it was disallowed for hitting Bakayoko's hand, but there's no way the ref could have seen it, and it looked like he guessed. The TV pictures certainly look if it came off anyone's hand then it was the defender's.

I think Westbrooke disguised his kick better than Hiwula did, and as such the keeper was later in diving to his left than the MK keeper was. As said by others he also hit it sweeter and at a less comfortable height for a keeper to save it.

Really tough game - couldn't be playing them at a worse time given their current form. That said we do tend to play better against the better teams. I would stick with the bulk of the team that finished yesterday, although Biamou might not be fit enough to start so might he then go with Hiwula...

    5-3-2

Both Drysdale and Williams look promising enough to step in if one of the 3 centre backs got injured. In fact it could make it easier for them to progress into the team if they have 2 more experienced partners alongside them than just the one. With the players available to us at this time, and...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Fleetwood Town Match Thread - Wednesday 23rd Oct

I also remember the Fleetwood game last season. They were very physical and strong, with Evans being a real handful for our defence, so I can see some logic in playing 3 centre backs, with Kelly holding in midfield & pushing the 2 full backs a bit further forward, but is MR ready to change...

Seems like it was pretty much all us. Was Enobokhare playing for them?

I'm presuming that's just a guess on your part. The most obvious TV game to my mind is Harrogate v Peterborough.

    Transfer Rumour Colby Bishop

In judging non league players stepping up it's always useful to factor in the benefits of full time training, and not having to do another job, with the added tiredness and stress that might bring.

Presuming Godden is still unavailable the only change I see is Kelly in, probably for Westbrooke, allowing Walsh to play a little more advanced. Noticed Walters did really well for the U23's the other day, so he might be a long shot to give us a different option off the bench.

Good points made, but it looks like Robins is favouring McCallum over Mason at the moment, not that I'm personally bothered too much about which one plays, as I think their pretty much on a par. Mason has better tactical awareness, while McCallum offers more physicality to the defence. However I...

    Officials in League 1

Just do the same as in Rugby - once the clock runs out, the final whistle/ hooter goes when the ball is next dead, apart from if there is a foul, when the game should still continue.

    Officials in League 1

I read an analysis of Prem games a couple of seasons back, where as I remember the ball is very rarely 'in play' for more than 55 minutes of any game. With that as a reference point I can see some logic in a change being made somewhere in the future, to playing 2 halves of 30 minutes, and using...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Tranmere Rovers Match Thread - Sunday 13th Oct

I think Kelly will definitely start, with Kastaneer most likely dropping out. Shipley had a good couple of games prior to last week, and I see no way MR will drop him on the back of a performance where only O'Hare played half decently.

Historically who have City played the most....

11 Prem, 4 Championship & 1 League 1 team isn't the balance I expected given we've only had one historical period in the top flight, albeit quite a lengthy one.

I know it's not always reliable to take CWR at their word, but Eakin was saying League suspensions are not carried into this competition.

    Robins to Stoke?

Absolutely no chance of Everton going for Robins

    A message to Mark Robins

Yes he played well in that game, but otherwise he hasn't been as good as I hoped or expected. I haven't given up hope as he clearly was a good player for Burton, but he has to cut out the sloppy errors, as there have simply been too many of them. I also expected him to be more dominant in the...
